EDD: 6 weeks, no update on unemployment claim. What to do?

Ugh, welcome to the club 🙄 I've been waiting for 2 months now. The system is so broken, it's ridiculous. Have you tried faxing your documents? Sometimes that works faster than online submissions.

6 weeks is actually not that bad compared to some horror stories I've heard. But here's what you should do: 1. Keep calling every day, multiple times a day. It's annoying but persistence pays off. 2. Check your spam folder regularly. Sometimes important emails end up there. 3. Reach out to your local assembly member's office. They can often help expedite things. 4. Make sure you've submitted all required documents. Double-check everything. 5. Consider applying for other assistance programs while you wait. Hang in there, the system is overwhelmed but you'll get through eventually!

I found a method to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/1X-mEsLtbmQ

have u checked ur online account for any pending tasks or verifications? sometimes they need more info but don't actually contact u about it 🙄

6 weeks? You sweet summer child. I've been waiting since March 2020. At this point, I'm convinced EDD is run by a bunch of hamsters on wheels. 🐹💨

Pro tip: call right when they open. I mean EXACTLY when they open. Set an alarm and everything. I got through on my third try doing this.

Anyone else notice that EDD's website looks like it was designed by a middle schooler in 2003? Maybe if they updated their tech, we wouldn't be in this mess 🤦‍♂️

Unpopular opinion: sometimes no news is good news. If there was a problem with your claim, they'd probably let you know faster. Hang in there!
