Any updates on third P-EBT payment for 0-6 year olds in Fresno County?

I've been checking my P-EBT card balance for weeks now waiting for the third issuance for my 4-year-old. The first two payments came through fine (back in September and again in December I think?), but nothing since then. The CalFresh office keeps giving me different answers when I call - one worker said there would be a third payment in March 2025, another said the program ended after the second issuance, and a third person just put me on hold forever. Has anyone in Fresno County with kids under 6 received a third payment yet? Or heard anything official about whether it's coming? My son's preschool isn't much help either since they don't handle P-EBT directly.

The last I heard, they ARE planning a third P-EBT payment for 0-6 year olds, but it's being rolled out county by county and there have been delays. I'm in Sacramento and we got ours last week. The amount was around $490 per eligible child, which was actually more than the previous payments. Check the CDSS website for the issuance schedule - they update it periodically with county-specific information.

Thanks! I just checked the CDSS website but couldn't find an updated schedule for 2025. Did Sacramento get theirs ahead of schedule or were you notified somehow? I'm wondering if I should just keep checking my balance or if they send something in the mail first.

I work for a community org that partners with CalFresh in Fresno. The P-EBT 3.0 for children 0-6 is definitely happening, but there was an issue with the database matching for Fresno County specifically. The state was supposed to resolve it by mid-March, but now they're saying April 2025. Keep your existing P-EBT card - the benefits will load automatically when processed. One thing to note: children need to have been in a household receiving CalFresh benefits during the qualifying period to receive this payment. If you had any gaps in your CalFresh coverage during that time, it might affect eligibility.

This is super helpful! We've had continuous CalFresh coverage, so hopefully we're still eligible. Is there a way to confirm my son is on their list for the next payment? The CDSS website is so confusing to navigate.

My sister just got hers in Fresno last week!!! But she's on WIC not calfresh. Maybe its different? Her baby is only 1 yr old tho. Check ur card again maybe?

P-EBT isn't related to WIC at all, so I don't think that's accurate. The payment your sister received was likely something else. P-EBT for children 0-6 is only for households that received CalFresh during specific months, not WIC. Important to avoid spreading confusion since many families are anxiously waiting for these benefits.

I was having the same problem getting through to someone at the county office about my P-EBT questions! After getting disconnected four times, I tried using Claimyr (claimyr.com) and actually got through to a person in about 10 minutes. They have this service where they wait on hold with CalFresh for you and call you back when there's a real person on the line. I was skeptical but it worked - finally got confirmation that my kids are on the list for the next payment. They have a video that shows how it works: https://youtu.be/eZ19FHRETv8?si=_CXnXqNXbLl26WB8

Just wanted to share what I learned today - I'm in Fresno too and I actually got a letter in the mail yesterday saying P-EBT benefits for 0-6 year olds will be issued between April 10-25, 2025. The letter also said the amount will be based on how many months your child was eligible during the qualifying period, which was October 2024 through February 2025. Hope this helps!

There's a lot of confusion around P-EBT because it's administered differently than regular CalFresh benefits. To clarify: 1. P-EBT 3.0 for children 0-6 is being issued in phases through April 2025 2. Fresno County is in the final phase (April 10-25) 3. Eligibility requires the child was in a CalFresh household during qualifying months 4. Benefit amounts vary from $390-$590 per child depending on eligibility months 5. No action is required if you already have a P-EBT card The benefits will automatically load to your existing P-EBT card. If you want to check your status specifically, call the state P-EBT helpline at 877-328-9677 (not the regular CalFresh number).

This is EXACTLY what I needed to know! Thank you for the clear explanation. I've been calling the wrong number this whole time. Will try the P-EBT helpline instead.

The standard P-EBT program that was related to school closures during COVID did end. What's happening now is P-EBT 3.0, which is a more limited program for young children in CalFresh households. That's why some people are correctly saying certain P-EBT programs ended, while others are correctly saying new payments are coming. Different programs with the same name leads to understandable confusion.

Just checked and nothing for me yet. Maybe they're loading them in batches? What's the first letter of your last name? Wondering if they're going alphabetically.

I found the official P-EBT 3.0 schedule on the CDSS website (it was buried pretty deep). Here's the link: [https://www.cdss.ca.gov/pebt-program-updates](https://www.cdss.ca.gov/pebt-program-updates) It confirms what others have said - Fresno County is scheduled for April 10-25, and they're issuing in batches based on case numbers, not alphabetically. Also, there's a note that some cards may take 1-3 business days to show the new balance after issuance, so keep checking even if it's not there immediately.
