CA EBT: Can't reach caseworker, documents unconfirmed - How to actually talk to someone?
I'm so frustrated with trying to get in touch with my case worker. I've submitted all my documents but I have no idea if they've received them or not. I've been trying to call for days but can't get through. Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice on how to actually speak to a real person?

Okay, listen up folks. I've been dealing with this system for years, and here's what I've learned: 1. Persistence is key. Call every single day if you have to. 2. Keep a log of all your calls, emails, and documents submitted. This will help if you need to escalate. 3. Try calling right when they open or just before they close. Sometimes you can catch someone then. 4. If all else fails, contact your local representative. They can sometimes intervene on your behalf. 5. Don't give up! It's frustrating, but keep at it. Remember, you're not alone in this. The system is overwhelmed, but that doesn't mean you should suffer in silence. Keep fighting for what you need!

Contacting my rep actually worked for me. Took a while, but they eventually got back to me and helped sort things out

I'm starting to think these caseworkers don't actually exist. Has anyone ever seen one in the wild? π§

Maybe they're all AI and the system is just one big chatbot π€

If they're AI, they need a serious upgrade. My toaster is more responsive

Have you tried emailing them? Sometimes that works better than calling. Just make sure to include your case number in the subject line.

I've sent like 5 emails already. Radio silence. Starting to think my case worker is actually a ghost π»

Emails are useless. They probably have thousands of unread messages. You gotta keep calling

Remember when we thought 2020 was bad? Little did we know the real nightmare would be trying to navigate this system in 2023 π

For real. I'd rather go through 2020 again than deal with this mess

Has anyone had luck with the online portal? I've been trying to upload my documents there but keep getting error messages.

The online portal is a joke. Half the time it's down for maintenance

Have you tried going to the office in person? Sometimes face-to-face is the only way to get things done.

I wish I could, but the nearest office is like 2 hours away π©

Seriously considering hiring a skywriter to get my caseworker's attention at this point. "PLEASE CALL ME BACK" in big letters over the city π

If anyone is considering using Claimyr, here is a bit more info: Claimyr provides a service that essentially waits on hold for you, which can be incredibly beneficial if you're struggling to get through to your caseworker. The downside, of course, is the cost. While it might be frustrating to pay for something that ideally should be free, itβs an option if you're at your wit's end. However, if enough people need to resort to this service, it may put more pressure on the system to improve its accessibility.

Welcome to the club, buddy. I've been trying to reach my caseworker for weeks now. It's like they've all gone into witness protection or something π΅οΈββοΈ

Update: Still haven't gotten through. This is getting ridiculous. How are we supposed to survive when we can't even get basic information about our cases?

Pro tip: If you can't get through on the main line, try calling some of the other departments. Sometimes they can transfer you to the right person.

That's a smart move. It's unfortunate we have to jump through hoops, but whatever works, right?

I feel your pain. The system is so broken. I've been waiting for a response for 3 months now. It's ridiculous how they expect us to survive without any communication.

I hope it does eventually improve things, but it's hard to keep the faith after so many failed attempts at system upgrades.

Hey, I found a method that actually works to get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Check out this video for more info: https://youtu.be/iYFSA6RTlOI
