How to find my SAI score after FAFSA application is processed?

I finally got my FAFSA fully processed for the 2025-2026 year (yay!), but now I can't figure out where to find my actual SAI score. I've logged into studentaid.gov and can see my application status shows as 'processed,' but I don't see the actual SAI number anywhere. Am I missing something obvious? I need this number for some scholarship applications that are due next week. Thanks in advance for any help!

Just checked all my emails including spam - nothing there with an SAI number. Just the confirmation that my application was processed. Do they always send the SAI in an email?

Your SAI (Student Aid Index) score should be visible on your Student Aid Report (SAR). Log into studentaid.gov, go to the "My Documents" section, and download your most recent SAR. The SAI should be clearly listed on the first or second page of this document. If you're not seeing it there, you might need to check if your application truly is fully processed or if there are any pending verification requirements.

Thank you! I found the My Documents section but only see a confirmation that my FAFSA was received. There's no SAR available to download yet. Does that mean it's not actually fully processed despite what the status says?

I had the EXACT same problem last month! My status said processed but no SAI anywhere. Turns out there was an issue with my tax information section that wasn't flagged properly in the system. I had to call FSA to fix it and then my SAI showed up about 3 days later. So frustrating they don't make this clearer on the website!!!

Oh great, that sounds like what might be happening to me too. How long did you have to wait on hold when you called? I tried calling earlier this week and gave up after 45 minutes.

I used Claimyr to get through to FSA when I had this exact problem. Instead of waiting on hold for hours, they got me a callback from an agent in about 20 minutes. You can see how it works at https://youtu.be/TbC8dZQWYNQ or just go to claimyr.com. Totally worth it when you're on a deadline for scholarships that need your SAI number!

For the 2025-2026 FAFSA, there have been significant changes to how the SAI is displayed in your account. Unlike previous years, your SAI won't appear in your account summary. You need to: 1. Log into studentaid.gov 2. Go to 'My Aid' section 3. Select '2025-2026' from the aid year dropdown 4. Look for 'View SAI Calculation' button 5. Download the PDF If you don't see the 'View SAI Calculation' button, then despite the 'processed' status, your application hasn't fully completed all verification steps. This is a common issue with the new system - the status updates before all processes are actually complete.

This is super helpful, thank you! I checked and don't see the 'View SAI Calculation' button, so I guess it's not really done processing. I'll try contacting them to see what's going on.

they make evrything so COMPLICATED!!! 😡 my daughters app said "processing" for like 5 weeks before her SAI showed up!!! then when it did we found out they calculated it wrong becuz they counted her summer job twice!!! had to file a correction and wait ANOTHER 3 weeks!!!! the whole system is broken and they dont care about regular people just trying to pay for college. good luck.

Just to clarify, since the 2025-2026 FAFSA simplification, your SAI (Student Aid Index) should be available within 3-5 business days after your application shows as 'processed'. However, there is often a delay between when the status updates and when the SAI is actually calculated. If it's been more than 5 business days since your status changed to 'processed' and you still don't see your SAI, I'd recommend contacting Federal Student Aid directly. This issue has affected approximately 12% of applicants this cycle, according to FSA's latest update.

It's only been 3 business days since my status changed, so maybe I just need to wait a bit longer. Thanks for the information! If it's not there by Monday, I'll definitely contact them.

Has anyone else noticed that sometimes the mobile app shows different information than the website? When my SAI wasn't showing up on the website, I randomly checked the mobile app and it was there! Might be worth trying if you haven't already.

I didn't even know there was a mobile app! I'll download it right now and check, thanks for the tip!

Update: I just checked the mobile app and my SAI is actually showing there! It's $4,352. Thank you all so much for your help, especially the tip about checking the app! Now I can finish those scholarship applications in time.

Great news! This is a known glitch in the new system where the SAI sometimes appears in the mobile app before it's visible on the website. Just a heads up - make sure to check both your confirmation email and the SAI in the app to verify they match. There have been rare cases where the preliminary SAI in the app was updated after final processing.
