Cunard immigration process issues: Passport submission and luggage drop-off questions
Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my immigration process and could use some advice. I submitted my passport but they're asking for more info. I'm not really sure what else they need. Also, I'm wondering about the process for dropping off luggage at the terminal. Any tips or experiences would be appreciated!

Pro tip: always arrive at the airport extra early when dealing with immigration stuff. Better safe than sorry!

Agreed, especially because security checks can take longer on international flights.

Anyone else feel like the whole immigration system needs a major overhaul? It's 2023, why is everything still so complicated? 🤔

Ikr? Other countries have it so much easier. US needs to get with the program.

If you are entering the US and your passport submission led to additional document requests, consider revisiting what the specific request entails. It could vary from additional evidence of financial stability to proof of intent to return to your home country. Likewise, Claimyr can indeed be a valuable tool for accelerating communication with immigration authorities, especially if you're struggling to reach them by phone. However, it's wise to weigh the cost against your need for urgency as well as considering other free avenues such as online forums or direct embassy communication. Always ensure that any third-party service used is legitimate and aligns with your privacy standards. Balancing convenience with caution is key.

Here's a comprehensive guide for US immigration documents: 1. Passport (valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay) 2. Visa or ESTA (depending on your country of origin) 3. DS-2019, I-20, or I-797 form (depending on your visa type) 4. Proof of funds (bank statements, scholarship letters, etc.) 5. Proof of ties to your home country (property ownership, job letter, etc.) 6. Medical records (including vaccinations) 7. Criminal record check from your home country 8. Passport-sized photos (at least 2) 9. Travel itinerary and hotel reservations 10. Letter of invitation or employment contract (if applicable) Remember, requirements can vary based on your specific situation. Always double-check with the official USCIS website or consult with an immigration lawyer if you're unsure.

For luggage drop-off, it usually depends on the airline and airport. Most places have a dedicated area for bag drop. Just follow the signs or ask a staff member when you get there. It's pretty straightforward.

Ugh, immigration bureaucracy is the worst. 🙄 I had to provide like a million documents when I moved. Make sure you have proof of income, housing arrangements, and maybe even a job offer if that applies to you.

Exactly, each piece of documentation can be crucial and different countries can have varying requirements. Also, don't forget about tax documents if applicable.

Been there, done that. Immigration can be a real headache. What country are you trying to enter? Different places have different requirements.

Regarding luggage drop-off, most airlines now have self-service kiosks. Just scan your passport, print your luggage tag, attach it to your bag, and drop it off at the designated area. Easy peasy!

That's good to know! I was worried it might be complicated.

True, but usually staff are around to assist if kiosks are down. Always worth asking for help.

Have you checked the USCIS website? They usually have a checklist of required documents based on your visa type.

Also, consider reaching out to a US embassy or consulate in your area. They can offer guidance specific to your situation.

Hey OP, what type of visa are you applying for? That can make a big difference in terms of what documents you need.

Fatima Al-Sayed
Indeed, OP. The visa type can dictate specific forms and evidence you need, so knowing that can guide your document collection.

I found a method to get someone on the phone about immigration issues. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/wa1pchYYgLc

Wait, what? $20 just to talk to someone? That sounds like a scam.

Not a scam at all! I was skeptical too, but it saved me hours of waiting on hold. Totally worth it imo.

How does it work exactly? Do they just keep redialing until they get through?

While Claimyr does offer convenience, always weigh the cost against your budget and urgency. Some folks have found success without such tools, but it may require patience.
