When do unemployment benefits get deposited in Washington ESD weekly claims?
I just filed my weekly claim with Washington ESD yesterday and I'm wondering when the money actually hits my account. This is my third week claiming but I'm still confused about the timing. My claim shows as processed but I haven't seen the deposit yet. Does anyone know the typical schedule for when Washington ESD deposits benefits? I have direct deposit set up through my SecureAccess Washington account.

Washington ESD typically processes payments within 2-3 business days after you file your weekly claim, assuming there are no issues with your claim. Since you filed yesterday, you should see the deposit by Thursday or Friday if everything is in order.

•Thanks! That's really helpful. I was getting worried something was wrong with my claim.

Just to add to what was said above - Washington ESD processes payments Monday through Friday only. If you file on a weekend, the processing doesn't start until Monday. Also, if there's any kind of adjudication issue or job search requirement problem, your payment can be delayed significantly.

•Good to know about weekends. I filed on a Tuesday so hopefully that helps with timing.

•What kind of job search issues can delay payments? I've been doing my job searches but worried I'm not doing them right.

•Make sure you're logging your job search activities in WorkSourceWA and meeting the minimum requirements. Usually it's 3 job search activities per week unless you're on standby.

I've been dealing with Washington ESD payment delays for weeks and finally found something that helped. I was having trouble getting through to anyone at ESD to check on my claim status. Someone recommended Claimyr (claimyr.com) and they actually got me connected to an ESD agent the same day. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ that shows how it works. Way better than sitting on hold for hours.

•Never heard of that service. Does it actually work or is it some kind of scam?

•It's legit. I was skeptical too but I was desperate. They don't ask for personal info and it really did get me through to ESD quickly.

•Interesting, I'll keep that in mind if I run into issues. For now my claim seems straightforward.

sometimes my payments come early like tuesday if i file sunday but sometimes they take forever especially if theres a holiday

•Yes, federal holidays definitely affect processing times. Washington ESD follows federal holiday schedules for payment processing.

•Ugh the holiday delays are the worst when you're counting on that money for rent

I'm so paranoid about my payments being delayed. I always file my weekly claims at exactly 12:01 AM on Sunday and check my account obsessively until the money shows up. Is there any way to speed up the process or is it just a waiting game?

Fiona Sand
•Filing early doesn't speed up processing - Washington ESD has set processing schedules regardless of when you file during the weekly filing period.

•Well that's disappointing. I thought getting in early might help somehow.

Direct deposit is definitely faster than the debit card option. When I first started my UI claim I was using the ReliaCard and those payments took an extra day or two compared to direct deposit.

Jasmine Hernandez
•Yeah I set up direct deposit right away. Seemed like the obvious choice.

•The ReliaCard has fees too which is annoying when you're already struggling financially

THE WASHINGTON ESD SYSTEM IS SO SLOW AND FRUSTRATING!!! I've been waiting 5 days for my payment and still nothing. This is ridiculous when people need money for basic necessities. They act like we're asking for charity instead of benefits we paid into!

Luis Johnson
•5 days is longer than usual. You might want to check if there's an issue with your claim that's causing the delay.

•How am I supposed to check when I can never get through on the phone and the website doesn't give any useful information??

•This is exactly why I ended up using Claimyr. The frustration of not being able to reach anyone at ESD was driving me crazy.

For what it's worth, my payments have been pretty consistent. I file Sunday evening and get paid Wednesday morning like clockwork. Been claiming for about 2 months now with no issues.

•That's reassuring to hear! Hopefully mine stays that predictable too.

•You're lucky. I feel like something always goes wrong with mine.

One thing to watch out for - if you make any mistakes on your weekly claim like forgetting to report work hours or income, it can trigger an adjudication that delays all future payments until it's resolved. Double check everything before submitting.

Jasmine Hernandez
•Good advice. I've been extra careful about that since I don't want any complications.

•This happened to me and it took 3 weeks to resolve. Make sure you report ALL income even if it's just a few dollars.
0 coins
Ella Cofer
•Exactly. Washington ESD is very strict about income reporting. Better to over-report than under-report.

Just checking - you did set up direct deposit through your SecureAccess Washington account, right? Not through some third party site? I've heard of people getting scammed by fake ESD sites.

Jasmine Hernandez
•Yes, I did it through the official SAW website. Thanks for the reminder to be careful about that.

The timing also depends on your bank. Some banks post ACH deposits earlier in the day than others. My credit union usually shows ESD deposits by 6 AM on the day they're processed.

•I'm with a big national bank so hopefully they're pretty quick about it.

•Chase usually posts mine around noon, Wells Fargo was always later in the day when I banked there

Just want to mention that if you're on standby status with your employer, the payment timing might be different. I was on standby for a few weeks and noticed some variations in when payments posted.

•I'm not familiar with standby status. What's the difference between that and regular unemployment?
0 coins
Mikayla Davison
•Standby is when your employer expects to recall you within a specific timeframe. You still get benefits but have different job search requirements.
0 coins
Fiona Sand
•Correct. Standby claimants typically don't have to do job searches since they're expected to return to their previous employer.

I remember my first few weeks of unemployment I was constantly refreshing my bank account waiting for the deposit. Now I just file my claim and forget about it until I get the notification from my bank app.

•Ha! That's exactly what I'm doing right now. Probably not healthy to check so obsessively.

Quick tip - you can also check your payment history in your ESD account to see the status of recent claims. Sometimes it shows as 'paid' before the money actually hits your bank account.

Jasmine Hernandez
•Oh I didn't know that! I'll check that instead of just staring at my bank balance.

•Yeah that payment history section is really useful for tracking everything

Last week I had an issue where my payment was delayed and I needed to speak with someone at Washington ESD urgently. A friend told me about this service called Claimyr that helps you get through to ESD agents faster. I was desperate so I tried it and honestly it worked great - got connected within an hour instead of waiting on hold all day. Their website is claimyr.com if anyone else is having trouble reaching ESD.

•How much does something like that cost? I'm already tight on money.

•I can't remember the exact amount but it was worth it to get my payment issue resolved quickly. Way cheaper than missing rent because of a delayed payment.

•Might have to try this. I'm so tired of the ESD phone system hanging up on me.

Been claiming for almost a year now and the payment timing has been pretty consistent except during major holidays like Christmas/New Year when everything gets delayed by a few days.

Make sure you keep filing your weekly claims even if payments seem delayed. I made the mistake of skipping a week thinking there was a problem and it created a whole mess with my claim that took weeks to sort out.
0 coins
Jasmine Hernandez
•Good to know! I'll make sure to keep filing regardless of payment timing.

•This is really important advice. Never skip filing even if something seems wrong.

•Exactly. It's better to file and have an issue to resolve than to create gaps in your claim history.

One more thing - if you ever need to update your direct deposit info, make sure you do it early in the week. Changes made close to your filing day might not take effect until the following week's payment.

Jasmine Hernandez
•That's good to know for the future. Hopefully I won't need to change anything but I'll remember that timing.
