ESD adjudication wait - desperate for working phone number to reach a real person

I've been stuck in adjudication for nearly 8 weeks now with absolutely zero movement on my claim. Every single day I try calling the main ESD number (800-318-6022) but all I get is that automated message saying "all representatives are currently busy" before it hangs up on me. I've tried calling at different times - 8:01 AM right when they open, midday, afternoon, even right before closing. NOTHING works. I've submitted 4 messages through eServices but haven't gotten a single response. My rent is due next week and I'm seriously panicking. Does anyone have a direct number or extension that actually works to reach a human being? Or maybe a specific time of day that's worked for you recently? I'm at my wits end and about to start selling furniture to make ends meet. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! I'll definitely try this first thing tomorrow morning. Did you have to do anything special once you got through? Like did they need specific information about your claim?

Sorry to hear about your situation. I've been through adjudication twice and understand how stressful it is. Here are a few options that might help: 1. The Office of Special Investigations has a different number: 866-697-4831. While they're not customer service, they sometimes transfer you to someone who can help with your claim. 2. Try contacting your state representative's office. I was stuck for 10 weeks until I reached out to mine, and they helped expedite my claim within days. 3. Make sure you're still filing your weekly claims during adjudication. The system will backpay you once approved, but only for weeks you've properly filed. Hope this helps!

Have you tried Claimyr? I was in the EXACT same situation last month - stuck in adjudication for 6 weeks and couldn't get through on the phone. Someone on here recommended it, and it actually worked! They basically call ESD for you and connect you when they get through to a rep. Cost me like a couple coffees but saved me days of frustration. Their website is claimyr.com and they have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ?si=26TzE_zGms-DODN3 When I finally got through to ESD, they fixed my adjudication issue in about 15 minutes - turned out it was just a simple verification thing they needed to clear.

I've never heard of this service before. Have other people here used it successfully? I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point, but I want to make sure it's legitimate before I go that route.

As someone who worked for ESD previously, I can offer some insight about the adjudication process. Adjudication typically takes 4-10 weeks currently, depending on claim complexity and backlog. Regarding phone contact: 1. The main number is indeed overwhelmed, but persistence is key. 2. Try the Claims Center at 800-318-6022 and use option sequence 1,1,3,4 which sometimes connects to different queue. 3. If your claim shows "adjudicator assigned" status, look for their direct extension in any correspondence. 4. For urgent financial hardship cases, specifically mention "financial hardship" when you get through. This can flag your case for expedited review. Make sure you're documenting all contact attempts (dates/times) as this may help if you need to escalate.

This is BS. I waited 14 WEEKS in adjudication and called EVERY DAY. They always say different things. One rep told me "2-3 more days" and another said "8 more weeks" ON THE SAME DAY. They have no idea whats going on. The system is completely broken!!!!

i used claimyr too after trying for weeks. got thru in like 30 mins. the lady at esd told me they get THOUSANDS of calls every day so its basicaly impossible to get thru the normal way. my issue was fixed in one call after weeks of stress

That's good to hear. I think I'm going to give it a try tomorrow if I can't get through with the early morning trick someone suggested. I just need to talk to an actual person at this point.

THIS IS WHY THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN!!! They DELIBERATELY make it impossible to get through so people give up and they don't have to pay!!! I lost my apartment waiting for my claim to process and had to move in with my sister. Filed a complaint with the governor's office and surprise surprise my claim was magically fixed 2 days later. THE SYSTEM IS RIGGED AGAINST US!!!

Just to follow up on my earlier comment - if you're in adjudication specifically for identity verification (which is quite common in 2025), you should also try uploading any additional identity documents you have to your eServices account. Sometimes the system doesn't properly notify you which documents they need. Common documents that help with ID verification: - Passport or passport card (strongest) - Driver's license AND social security card together - Birth certificate AND government-issued photo ID Many adjudication cases are simply waiting for proper documentation, and uploading these proactively can sometimes resolve the issue without having to call.

Thanks for the additional info. My adjudication is actually related to my job separation (they're verifying why I was laid off). I've already uploaded my termination letter but I'll double check if there's anything else I can add that might help speed things up.

UPDATE: I just called ESD this morning using the early call trick someone mentioned, and I actually got through! Waited on hold for about 40 minutes, but finally spoke to someone. My issue was that they needed verification from my former employer about my layoff, and apparently they hadn't responded to ESD's inquiries. The rep sent a new request with higher priority and said I should see movement within 7-10 days. Just wanted to share in case it helps anyone else!

That's amazing! Congratulations on getting through. I tried this morning but no luck. I'm going to keep trying with these suggestions. Really appreciate everyone's help.
