If you do end up needing to call Washington ESD, I second the recommendation for Claimyr. I was skeptical at first but it really does work. Being able to talk to an actual person who can look at your specific claim is invaluable when you're anxious about the process.
Bottom line - 10 days is still within the normal range. I know it feels like forever when you're waiting for money, but try to be patient for at least another week or two. Most claims do get approved eventually, it just takes time for the system to work through everything.
hope it all works out for you. the job search grind is tough but something will come through eventually. just keep at it and use all the resources available
Final reminder - make sure to keep detailed records of all your job search activities, income, and any program applications. Good documentation can save you a lot of headaches if questions come up later.
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. I'm in a similar situation and this has been incredibly helpful for understanding the process.
Final thought - if anyone needs help getting through to ESD during their appeal process, I can't recommend Claimyr enough. Check out claimyr.com - they really take the frustration out of trying to reach the right people at Washington ESD when you have questions about your case.
Bottom line: expect 3-4 weeks for a typical claim, keep filing weekly, and try not to panic if it takes the full month. The system is slow but it does work eventually.
One last thing - if you do end up needing to contact Washington ESD for any reason during the process, early morning (like 8 AM) seems to be the best time to try calling. Still hard to get through but slightly better odds.

You mentioned retail work - make sure you report any commission or tips you received in addition to your base wages. They need the full picture of your earnings to calculate your benefit amount correctly.

•I didn't get commissions but there were small quarterly bonuses. Should I include those too?

•Yes, include any bonuses or extra compensation. It all counts toward your wage history and could potentially increase your weekly benefit amount.
