Update us when you hear back! Always curious to hear how long it actually takes for people. Seems like there's a lot of variation in processing times.
If you do end up needing to call Washington ESD and want to avoid the hassle, I'd definitely recommend trying Claimyr. I was skeptical at first but it really saved me time and frustration when I needed to get through to them about my claim.
For students, there are special rules too. If you're in school, you might still be able to get benefits but you have to prove you're available for work during all normal business hours. Being a full-time student can complicate things.
Bottom line - if you worked in Washington state, earned wages, and lost your job through no fault of your own, you should apply. The application will determine if you meet all the specific requirements. Don't try to figure it all out beforehand, just apply and let them tell you yes or no.
Final thought - if you do run into problems getting through to Washington ESD, remember that Claimyr service I mentioned earlier. It's been a lifesaver for several people I know who were stuck in the system. The demo video really shows how much easier it makes the whole process of actually talking to someone at Washington ESD.
UPDATE: I finally got through to Washington ESD and found out my claim was held up because they needed to verify my employment with my previous employer. The agent said it should be resolved within a week. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to find out what's going on.
Bottom line - plan for 4 weeks to be safe, hope for 2-3 weeks, and don't panic if it goes longer. The system works, it's just slow. And definitely keep filing those weekly claims no matter what!
One last thing - if you do run into delays and need to speak with someone, don't waste weeks trying to call. Services like Claimyr exist specifically because the phone system is so overloaded. Sometimes you just need to cut through the red tape and get answers directly from an agent.
I'm definitely going to look into this Claimyr thing. Can't keep waiting forever.

I was in a similar situation and ended up using someone from my previous job's HR department. They have all the records and are used to these kinds of verification calls.

•That's what I'm leaning toward too. HR seems like the safest bet since they deal with this stuff all the time.

•Exactly, and they're more likely to be available and responsive compared to individual managers who might have moved on or be too busy.

Just to add another perspective - if you're really stuck and can't reach Washington ESD for clarification, I had success using Claimyr to get through to an agent who explained exactly what they were looking for in that verification contact field.

•How quickly were you able to get through using that?

•Much faster than trying to call directly. The regular Washington ESD lines were impossible to get through but this got me connected within a reasonable time.
