If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One more thing - when you file your weekly claims, make sure you're reporting the correct week. The claim week runs Sunday to Saturday, not whatever your normal work week is.

Good catch! I work Monday through Friday at the warehouse, so I need to think in terms of Sunday-Saturday weeks.

0 coins

Exactly. It's a common mistake that can mess up your benefit calculations.

Thanks for posting this question! I've been wondering the same thing since I lost my second job last month. Going to file my claim this weekend based on all the helpful responses here.

Awesome! Glad my question helped other people too. Good luck with your claim!

Thanks! This thread has been way more helpful than trying to navigate the Washington ESD website alone.

Another option to consider - some teens qualify for other assistance programs that might be easier to navigate than unemployment. Might be worth checking with social services too.

What kind of other programs? She really just needs temporary income replacement until she finds another job.

0 coins

Things like SNAP or temporary assistance, but honestly if she qualifies for UI that's probably the best option since she earned it through her work.

Bottom line - yes minors can get unemployment in Washington, but be prepared for potential delays if Washington ESD questions her availability due to school. The key is being honest about her schedule and showing she's genuinely looking for work that fits around school hours.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! I feel much more confident about helping her navigate this process now.

0 coins

Good luck! Hope her claim goes through smoothly.

Pro tip: if you do qualify for a new claim, your waiting week requirement starts over. So there will be one week you don't get paid even if you had benefits right up until your benefit year ended.

0 coins

Ugh really? So there's automatically a gap in payments?

0 coins

Unfortunately yes. The waiting week applies to each new benefit year, not just your first claim ever.

I'm in the same boat - benefit year ended and still no job. At least I know I'm not alone in this situation. The whole process is stressful enough without having to navigate Washington ESD's terrible phone system.

Yeah it's good to know others are dealing with this too. Hope we all get it figured out.

Same here. Good luck everyone!

If you're reading this and have an overpayment notice, don't do what I did and stick your head in the sand. Call them immediately, even if it takes forever to get through. Setting up a payment plan early saves you so much money and stress in the long run.

Or use Claimyr to cut through the phone queue hell. Seriously made dealing with my overpayment so much easier when I could actually talk to someone quickly.

Wish I had known about that service when I was going through this. Would have saved me weeks of frustration.

0 coins

Bottom line - they have way more collection tools than regular creditors and they will use them. Wage garnishment, tax intercepts, blocking future benefits. Don't test them on this.

0 coins

Point taken. I'm convinced I need to deal with this head-on instead of hoping it goes away.

0 coins

Smart choice. It's scary at first but once you have a plan in place, the stress level drops dramatically.

Just wanted to add that the benefit amount also depends on when you file. If you wait too long after becoming unemployed, you might miss out on wages from recent quarters that could increase your benefit calculation. File as soon as you're eligible.

0 coins

That's good advice. I was laid off 3 weeks ago but just started the application process. Hopefully that's not too late.

0 coins

Three weeks should be fine. The important thing is getting your claim filed and starting the process. Washington ESD can backdate benefits to when you first became unemployed if eligible.

Another vote for that Claimyr service if you need to talk to someone at Washington ESD about your benefit calculation. Used it twice now when I had questions and both times got helpful agents who could access my account and explain things clearly. Worth checking out their demo video to see how it works.

I'm always skeptical of third-party services but if it actually works it might be worth it given how impossible it is to reach Washington ESD directly.

0 coins

I was skeptical too but after wasting entire days trying to call on my own, I figured it was worth trying. Definitely made the process less stressful.
