If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just want to add that if you're self-employed or an independent contractor, you might not be eligible for regular UI benefits. You'd need to check if you qualify for other programs or if you've been paying into the system voluntarily.

Good point. A lot of gig workers found this out the hard way when they tried to file for unemployment.

Thankfully I'm a regular W-2 employee, so I should be covered. This thread has been really helpful in understanding how the benefit calculation works.

One more tip - when you do get your benefit determination letter from Washington ESD, read it carefully and make sure all the wage information is correct. If there are errors, you need to appeal quickly to get them fixed.

0 coins

I believe it's 30 days from when the determination is mailed, but don't quote me on that. Best to appeal as soon as you notice an error.

And this is where services like Claimyr become really valuable - getting through to ESD to discuss appeal issues or benefit calculations is nearly impossible otherwise. I've used them twice now when I needed to actually talk to someone about my claim.

Update us on how it goes! There aren't enough success stories about pregnancy-related quit claims. Would love to hear if you get approved.

0 coins

I definitely will. Thanks everyone for all the advice. I feel much more prepared now.

0 coins

Yes please update! I might be in a similar situation soon.

One more thing - if your claim gets denied initially, don't give up. You have the right to appeal and many pregnancy-related cases get approved on appeal even if denied first. The appeals process gives you a chance to present your case more thoroughly.

Usually 6-8 weeks for a hearing to be scheduled. It's frustrating but worth it if you have a strong case.

0 coins

And if you need to talk to someone about your appeal, that Claimyr service I mentioned can help you reach the right department. They were really helpful when I had questions about my case.

The whole approval process is way more confusing than it needs to be. You'd think they'd just send a clear 'APPROVED' or 'DENIED' message but instead you have to piece it together from different parts of your account.

Exactly! A simple status update would make this so much easier for everyone

They really need to modernize their communication system, it's 2025 for crying out loud

Update us when you figure it out! I'm sure other people are wondering about the same thing with their claims.

Will do! Planning to try filing my weekly claim this weekend and see if that gives me any clarity. Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice!

The most important thing is to report work immediately. I made the mistake of waiting until my next weekly claim and it flagged my account for review. Took weeks to sort out.

0 coins

How do you report work immediately? Do you have to call or is there an online option?

0 coins

You report it on your weekly claim filing. Just don't wait - file as soon as your week ends and include any work you did that week.

0 coins

Bottom line is Washington ESD wants you to get back to work. The system is designed to support the transition, not penalize you for finding employment. Just be honest about everything.

Good luck with the new job! Hope it works out well for you.

Thank you! This thread has been incredibly helpful.

Make sure you report any income you earn while receiving benefits, even if it's just a few hours of work. Not reporting income is considered fraud and they will make you pay back any overpayment with penalties.

What if I do some freelance work or odd jobs?

0 coins

Report all income, doesn't matter if it's W-2 or 1099 work. Be honest about everything to avoid problems later.

The whole process is intimidating at first but you got this! Just take it one step at a time and don't be afraid to ask questions if you get stuck.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice! I feel much more confident about filing now.

You're welcome! We've all been there and it gets easier once you get into the routine of filing weekly claims.
