Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice! I feel much more confident about taking this contract work now. I'll report everything properly and keep good records. Sounds like as long as I'm honest about it, I should be fine.
And remember, if you need to talk to Washington ESD about anything specific, that Claimyr service is there if you can't get through the regular way.
Just wanted to add my experience - I've been doing occasional freelance web development while on unemployment for the past few months. The key thing I learned is to be super precise about the dates when you actually performed the work vs when you got paid. I had one project where I worked 3 days in one week and 2 days the following week, but got paid in a lump sum later. I reported the earnings proportionally across those specific days I worked ($300 for week 1, $200 for week 2) and it went smoothly. Also keep detailed time logs if possible - Washington ESD appreciates when you can show exactly how you calculated your weekly earnings breakdown.
Glad this thread exists, I was starting to think I was the only one having these issues with the Washington ESD website. At least now I know it's not just me.
I've been dealing with this exact same issue! The Washington ESD website has been completely unreliable for weeks now. I tried all the browser troubleshooting steps people mentioned but nothing worked. Finally broke down and used Claimyr yesterday - got connected to an actual ESD agent in about 25 minutes and they helped me file everything over the phone. It was such a relief after days of frustration with the broken website. The small fee was totally worth avoiding all the stress and wasted time.
Really hoping this works out for you! Keep us posted on what the determination letter says when it arrives.
I'm in a similar situation - got a level 3 closure notification two days ago and have been anxiously waiting to see what it means. From reading all these responses, it sounds like most people with level 3 closures end up getting approved, which gives me some hope. The fact that they did such a thorough investigation suggests they're taking these cases seriously. Has anyone here had experience with how long it typically takes for the determination letter to arrive after seeing the level 3 closure status?
Final thought for OP - 6 weeks isn't great but it's unfortunately within their normal processing range. If you hit 8 weeks with no movement, that's when I'd really push for escalation through complaints or getting an agent on the phone. Hang in there, most claims do eventually get approved.
Thanks for all the advice everyone. At least now I know this is somewhat normal and have some options if it drags on much longer. Going to try that Claimyr thing if I don't see any movement by week 8.
I'm going through the exact same thing right now - filed 5 weeks ago and still stuck in "Adjudication in Progress" status. Reading through everyone's experiences here is both reassuring and terrifying at the same time. It's good to know 6-8 weeks seems to be the norm, but knowing some people wait 12+ weeks is scary. I've been keeping detailed records of everything like Annabel suggested, and I think I'm going to try that Claimyr service if I don't see movement by week 8. The stress of not knowing what's happening or if there's some missing document is honestly the worst part of this whole process.

I think there's some confusion about overpayment waiver refunds. Adjudication and waiver are different processes. The pandemic overpayment waiver program is separate from regular overpayment waivers. For pandemic waivers that are approved, ESD is supposed to refund any amounts already paid. Make sure you're looking at the waiver determination letter - it should have a section called "Effects of this Decision" that mentions if you're eligible for a refund.

•No there isnt any confusion!! The OP clearly said PANDEMIC waiver and yes they DO refund but they DON'T tell you when!! That's the whole problem!!

•I was trying to provide additional clarification as there are different types of waivers and processes. You're right that they do refund for approved pandemic waivers. I should have been more clear in my explanation.

Update: Finally reached an ESD agent today! They confirmed the refund is in process and should arrive within 2 weeks. They're sending it as a direct deposit to the account they have on file. For anyone in a similar situation, keep checking your eServices account as that's where it will show first before the money hits your bank account. Thanks everyone for your help!

•I used Claimyr after several failed attempts calling directly. It worked just like they said - I got connected to an agent within about 15 minutes. Definitely worth it for the peace of mind.

•That's such great news! I'm in a similar situation waiting for my pandemic waiver refund and have been stressed about it. Hearing that you got confirmation it's being processed gives me hope. I'll definitely check out Claimyr if I need to follow up - seems like actually talking to someone makes all the difference with ESD.
