Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

One thing I wish someone had told me - make sure you apply for the right type of benefits. There's regular unemployment and then there's stuff like standby pay for certain situations. I applied for the wrong one initially and had to start over.
How do you know which type to apply for?
Regular unemployment is for most people who lost their job through no fault of their own. Standby is more specific for temporary layoffs where you expect to be called back. The application should guide you but it's good to understand the difference.

Don't let fear stop you from trying! The worst they can say is no, and you might be surprised by the outcome.
Agree with that. Even if you're not sure, it's worth filing and seeing what happens. You can always appeal if needed.

One last thing - if you move or change your address while on unemployment, make sure you update that in your account right away. Washington ESD sends important mail and you don't want to miss anything.
Good point, I wasn't planning to move but that's important to remember.
Same with phone numbers and email addresses - keep everything current so they can reach you if needed.

Just remember, most payment delays do get resolved within a few days once you get the right person on the phone. Don't lose hope - your money is probably just stuck in some bureaucratic queue somewhere.
That's reassuring. I'm going to try calling first thing tomorrow morning and see if I can get through to someone who can explain what's happening.
