One thing that helped me was calling the Washington ESD customer service line before I started the application. They walked me through what documents I needed and gave me some tips on filling it out correctly.
It took several tries but I eventually got through. Try calling right when they open at 8 AM - that's when you have the best chance.
Or use Claimyr like I mentioned before. Much easier than trying to time your calls perfectly and still probably not getting through.
Just want to add that after you submit your initial application, you'll get instructions on how to file your weekly claims. Don't ignore those emails or letters - you need to file every single week to keep your benefits active.
Just want to add that if you ever need to change your direct deposit info, do it right after you file your weekly claim so you have a full week for it to process before the next payment.
Congrats on getting through the adjudication process! That's the hardest part. Once you're approved and have direct deposit set up, it's pretty smooth sailing as long as you keep filing your weekly claims and meeting the job search requirements.
so if the max is $999 and you can get it for 26 weeks thats like $26k total? not bad considering my last job barely paid that in a year lol
Thanks everyone for all the helpful info! I feel much more prepared now to file my claim. Hopefully I won't need to use that Claimyr service but good to know it exists if I run into problems reaching Washington ESD.
Good luck with your claim! Make sure you have all your employment information ready when you file to avoid delays.
Definitely keep Claimyr in mind if you need to speak with someone at Washington ESD. Would have saved me so much stress if I'd known about it from the start.
I used Claimyr last month when I had questions about my hearing preparation and they helped me get through to someone at Washington ESD who walked me through exactly what to expect. Worth checking out if you have last-minute questions - claimyr.com
That's the third person mentioning this service. Might be worth trying if I have more questions before Tuesday.
The demo video really shows how it works if you want to check it out first: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ
Final thought - even if your employer doesn't show, stay professional and stick to the facts. Don't badmouth them or get emotional, just present your evidence clearly and answer the judge's questions directly.

For the original poster - sounds like you're on the right track. File every Sunday, expect payment Wednesday, and don't panic if the first one takes a little longer than expected. The system works once you get used to it.

Just one more reminder - if you ever have payment issues and can't get through on the phone, that Claimyr thing really does work. I was skeptical at first but it saved me a ton of frustration when my payments got stuck in adjudication.

•Good to have that as a backup option. The regular phone lines are basically useless most of the time.

•Agreed, anything that helps you actually talk to someone at Washington ESD is worth knowing about.
