If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

For anyone still reading this thread - I just want to mention that if you used to work in a different state, that can sometimes complicate your Washington claim. There are interstate agreements but it's worth asking about if you've moved recently.

Good point! I know someone who had wages from Oregon and Washington and it took forever to sort out which state should handle their claim.

0 coins

Yeah, multi-state wage situations can be tricky. Definitely something to bring up when talking to an ESD agent.

This has been the most helpful thread I've found about Washington unemployment eligibility. Bookmarking this for future reference!

Same here! Way clearer than the official Washington ESD website.

Remember that your 26 weeks starts from when you first file, not when you get approved. So if there's a delay in processing your claim, you're not losing weeks of benefits. But definitely keep filing your weekly claims even during any delays.

0 coins

That's good to know. I was worried I was losing time while my claim was being processed.

The bottom line is that Washington unemployment benefits are designed to be temporary support while you look for work. Use the time wisely, follow all the requirements, and hopefully you'll find something before the 26 weeks are up. Good luck with your job search!

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information! I feel much better understanding how the system works now.

I used to work for Washington ESD and can confirm that lump sum severance payments typically don't affect unemployment benefits. The confusion comes from people mixing up severance with other types of separation pay. Just be accurate when you report it and you should be fine.

0 coins

Thanks for the insider perspective! That gives me a lot of confidence.

Wish we had more people with actual Washington ESD experience answering questions here. So much misinformation gets spread.

0 coins

Bottom line: File your claim, report your severance accurately, and let Washington ESD make the determination. Most people with lump sum severance can collect benefits immediately. The system is designed to help unemployed workers, not punish them for getting severance.

Perfect summary. I'm filing today and not looking back. Thanks everyone for the help!

Good luck! Hope it works out smoothly for you.

One more tip - if you're getting close to the end of your benefits, document EVERYTHING about your job search. Keep records of every application, every contact, every interview. If you end up needing to appeal any decisions or apply for other programs, having detailed records will help.

Good point. I've been keeping track but maybe not as detailed as I should be. I'll start being more thorough.

Screenshots of job postings are helpful too since they sometimes get taken down and you want proof you applied to legitimate openings.

btw that claimyr thing someone mentioned earlier - i tried it when i had issues with my claim and it actually worked. saved me from sitting on hold for hours. might be worth it if you need to talk to someone at washington esd about your remaining benefit time

0 coins

Thanks for the follow-up on that. I might give it a try since I do have some specific questions about my situation.

0 coins

Yeah I've heard good things about services like that. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to get clear answers.

0 coins

Document everything - when your payments stopped, what your account shows, any messages you've received. You'll need this information when you talk to Washington ESD.

0 coins

Good advice. I'll screenshot everything before I call.

0 coins

Also write down the dates of your last few weekly claims and when you filed them. They often ask about that.

0 coins

Hope you get this resolved quickly. The stress of having benefits stop unexpectedly is awful, especially when you're depending on them for basic expenses.

Thanks, I really appreciate all the advice from everyone. At least now I have some ideas of what to ask about when I call.
