I ended up using that Claimyr service too after reading about it here. Really helped me understand my timeline and what my options were. The agent was able to explain things in plain English instead of all the technical jargon on the website.
Good luck with everything. The job market is tough right now but at least you know where you stand with your benefits. Planning ahead is smart.
Thanks for asking this question OP. I'm in a similar situation and this discussion has given me a lot to think about for planning ahead.
The system really should have better transition support but it is what it is. Focus on what you can control - expanding your search, networking, maybe picking up some temp work to keep income flowing.
For anyone struggling with the Washington ESD phone system like I was, I ended up using Claimyr after reading about it here. Game changer for getting actual help when you need it. The video demo they have really shows how much easier it makes the whole process.
One last tip - if you're having trouble with your weekly claim or it gets stuck processing, don't wait weeks hoping it resolves itself. Contact Washington ESD as soon as possible because delayed payments can create a backlog that takes forever to clear up.
The bottom line is that Washington's unemployment system is based on wages, not hours. As long as you earned enough money during your base period and your hour reduction was involuntary, you should qualify for benefits. Don't let the complexity scare you away from applying.
One last tip - when you file your weekly claims, make sure you report those 10 hours you're still working accurately. Partial unemployment can actually be better than full unemployment in some cases since you're still earning some money.

For anyone still worried about the phone option - seriously don't bother trying to call Washington ESD unless you absolutely have to. The online application is way more efficient and you don't have to deal with busy signals.

•And if you do need to call later for any reason, remember that claimyr.com option. Game changer for actually reaching someone.

One last thing - after you apply online, you should get an email confirmation pretty quickly. If you don't see it within a few hours, check your spam folder before you panic and think the application didn't go through.

•Perfect timing on that advice. I'll watch for that confirmation email.

•Good point about checking spam. Government emails always seem to end up there for some reason.
