Does anyone know if the maximum changes if you're collecting standby benefits instead of regular unemployment? I'm in a union and might be on temporary layoff.
Bottom line - with a $95k salary you should get close to the $999 maximum assuming you worked enough quarters. The Washington ESD benefit calculator on their website can give you an estimate once you have your wage information ready.
The waiting is the worst part. My advice is to apply for every assistance program you can while you wait - food banks, utility assistance, anything that can help bridge the gap until your benefits start.
I just wanted to update everyone - I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned and finally got through to Washington ESD after weeks of trying on my own. Turns out there was a simple issue with my employer's response that was holding everything up. Got it resolved and should see my benefits next week. Sometimes you just need to talk to an actual person to get things moving.
Just to summarize for anyone still confused: work history + qualifying separation + able/available to work + actively job searching = eligible for unemployment benefits in Washington. The wage thresholds aren't super high if you worked steadily.
Don't wait too long to file if you think you qualify. There's usually a waiting week and benefits don't pay retroactively before your application date.
Also worth mentioning - if your claim does get denied for any reason, you have the right to appeal within 30 days. Don't panic if you get a denial letter, just follow the appeal process if you think it's wrong.
Bottom line - 2-3 weeks is normal, up to 4-6 weeks if there are complications. Keep filing weekly, check your account regularly, and don't stress too much unless you hit the 4-week mark with no communication.

•The legislative hotline is for escalated issues when normal channels aren't working. They don't handle routine questions but can help if you've been unable to reach anyone for weeks

Update: I finally got through using Claimyr after seeing all the mentions here. Agent told me my claim should be approved by next week - employer confirmed the layoff was due to lack of work. Thanks to everyone who suggested it!
