One thing that helped me was keeping a log of when I filed, what status changes I saw, and any communications from Washington ESD. Made it easier to track progress and have specific questions ready when I finally got through to someone.
For what it's worth, I used Claimyr when I was in a similar situation and the agent was able to tell me exactly what stage my claim was in and what to expect next. Worth the peace of mind when you're dealing with this kind of uncertainty.
One more thing - make sure you start your job search activities right away since Washington ESD requires that you be actively looking for work to maintain eligibility. Don't wait until after you're approved to start applying for jobs.
Good luck with your claim! Based on everything you've described and all the similar experiences people have shared here, I think you'll be approved without any major issues. Just be patient with the process and make sure you keep filing your weekly claims even while it's under review.
Bottom line is everyone's situation is different based on their work history. The formulas help estimate but you won't know for sure until Washington ESD processes your claim and sends you the determination letter.
If you need help navigating the system or getting answers from Washington ESD, that Claimyr thing people mentioned is actually pretty useful. I was skeptical but it helped me get through to someone who could explain my benefit calculation when I was confused about the amounts.
Update us when you hear back from Washington ESD! This kind of case is really interesting from a legal standpoint. Workplace safety retaliation cases often favor the employee, especially with documentation like you have.
One more plug for that Claimyr service if anyone needs to actually talk to Washington ESD about their case. I used it again last week for a different issue and got through immediately. Sometimes you just need to speak to a human, and this makes that possible without the usual hassle.

Washington ESD adjudication is so backed up right now. Even with a clear case like yours it's going to take weeks to resolve. Just be patient and make sure you keep filing your weekly claims even while the appeal is pending.

•Yes, keep filing! If your appeal is successful you'll get backpay for those weeks. If you don't file them, you lose those weeks permanently.

•This is really important advice. I stopped filing during my appeal and lost 4 weeks of benefits even after I won.

Good luck with your appeal! Defense contract layoffs are legitimate reasons for unemployment and with the right wage calculation you should qualify. The system is frustrating but it does work eventually.

•Thanks everyone for all the advice. I feel much more confident about the appeal process now and understand what went wrong with my initial claim.
