If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

reminder that if you received unemployment benefits, you might also be eligible for the earned income tax credit or other credits that could reduce what you owe

This is important! A lot of people don't realize they might qualify for additional credits even when receiving unemployment.

I tried using that Claimyr service mentioned here and it actually worked really well. Got connected to someone at Washington ESD who helped me understand my 1099-G and even explained some other questions I had about my claim. Way better than the runaround I was getting calling directly.

How long did it take them to get you connected?

0 coins

Much faster than I expected. Instead of spending hours redialing busy signals, I got through to an actual person who could help with my tax questions.

Does anyone know when Washington typically announces the new maximum weekly benefit amounts for the next year? I'm curious what the 2026 numbers might look like.

0 coins

They usually announce it in late fall/early winter before it takes effect in January. It's based on wage data from the previous year so there's a lag.

0 coins

Makes sense. Hopefully wages went up enough to push the maximum higher for people filing new claims next year.

0 coins

Bottom line - if you're currently collecting benefits, your weekly amount is what it is until your benefit year ends. The annual increases only help people filing new claims after the adjustment takes effect. It's not ideal but that's how the system works.

Thanks everyone for all the explanations. At least now I understand how it works even if I don't love the answer!

Knowledge is power, even when the knowledge is that nothing's going to change. At least you can plan your budget accordingly now.

One more plug for Claimyr - I used it when my claim was stuck and found out there was a simple issue with my work search log format that was holding everything up. Sometimes you just need to talk to a human to get answers.

At this point I'm definitely considering it. The peace of mind of knowing what's going on might be worth it.

0 coins

That's exactly how I felt. Sometimes the unknown is worse than bad news because at least with bad news you know what you're dealing with.

0 coins

Bottom line - 2-3 weeks is normal for straightforward cases, but don't panic if it takes a bit longer. Keep filing your weekly claims, keep job searching, and if you hit the 3-week mark without any communication, then it's time to be more proactive about getting answers.

You're welcome! Hope everything works out smoothly for you. Keep us posted on how it goes.

Good luck! The waiting is definitely the hardest part but you're doing everything right.

Also remember that even if severance reduces your benefits for a few weeks, you don't lose those potential benefit weeks - they just get pushed out to later in your benefit year. So you're not actually losing money, just delaying when you receive it.

0 coins

Is that actually true? I thought if you don't use all your benefits within the benefit year, you just lose them.

0 coins

You're right about the benefit year limit, but severance delays don't count against that timeline the same way voluntary gaps in claiming do.

0 coins

My advice is to file your unemployment claim as soon as you're laid off, even with the severance question marks. Washington ESD will sort out the payment details, but you don't want to delay starting the process. The sooner you file, the sooner they can begin reviewing your case.

0 coins

That makes sense. I guess I was overthinking it trying to figure out all the details first.

0 coins

Exactly! File first, figure out the complicated stuff later. You can always provide additional information if they need it.

Two weeks is still within normal range. I'd give it another week before getting seriously worried. The anxiety is real though - I remember checking my account like 10 times a day when I was waiting.

0 coins

Yep, that's exactly what I'm doing! Obsessively checking and getting disappointed every time.

0 coins

Try to limit yourself to checking once a day, maybe in the evening. It'll help with the stress.

Update us when you hear something! I'm always curious about how these turn out and it helps other people in similar situations.

Definitely will! Hopefully it'll be good news soon. Thanks everyone for the helpful responses and reassurance.
