WASHINGTON ESD UPDATE: Just got off the phone with them (finally!) and they said there's been some delays this week due to system maintenance. Payments might be running 1-2 days behind schedule.
Final update from OP - my payment just hit my account this morning! Took exactly 3 business days from when it showed 'paid' status. Thanks everyone for the help and reassurance!
One thing to remember is that if you have multiple jobs or irregular work schedules, your benefit calculation might be more complex. Washington ESD will look at all your covered employment during the base period.
Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences here. This thread has been way more helpful than the Washington ESD website for understanding what to expect.
So basically if you worked enough and made enough money, you probably qualify. The specific job length doesn't matter as much as total earnings.
I exhausted my 26 weeks last month and there's literally nothing after that. No extensions, no additional programs, nothing. Make sure you have a backup plan because 6 months goes faster than you think.
Bottom line for OP: 26 weeks maximum for regular unemployment benefits in Washington. No extensions available right now. File every week, keep detailed job search records, and start planning for what happens after those 26 weeks are up. That's the reality of the system.
Thanks everyone for all the info. Sounds like I need to be realistic about the 6 month timeline and start preparing for different scenarios. This has been really helpful.

Washington ESD also offers some job training programs that can extend your benefits while you learn new skills. Worth looking into if you want to change careers.

•That sounds interesting! How do you find out about those programs?

•Check with WorkSource Washington - they coordinate with ESD on training programs. There's info on the ESD website too.

Bottom line - file as soon as possible after losing your job. Don't wait because you're confused about the process. You can always call (or use that Claimyr thing) to get help with questions later, but you want to get your claim started ASAP.

•Good luck! Remember to file your weekly claims every week to keep the benefits coming.
