If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

The waiting is the worst part. I remember checking my account obsessively every day waiting for something to change. Try to stay busy with job hunting and don't let the stress consume you.

Thanks for the advice. It's hard not to worry when bills are piling up but you're right.

0 coins

I know it's easier said than done but the waiting is normal. Most people get approved eventually.

0 coins

Bottom line - if everything goes smoothly you're looking at about a month from filing to first payment. If there are complications it could be 6-8 weeks or more. Have a backup plan for covering expenses during the waiting period.

A month is manageable. Beyond that would be really tough. Thanks everyone for the realistic timeline.

Glad we could help. Keep us posted on how it goes!

Have you tried reaching out to your state representative's office? Sometimes they can help cut through the red tape with Washington ESD issues.

0 coins

I hadn't thought of that. Do they actually help with unemployment issues?

0 coins

Yes, their constituent services departments often help people navigate state agency problems. Might be worth a try if you can't get through to Washington ESD directly.

UPDATE: I finally got through using that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Turns out my employer did dispute my claim saying I was fired for misconduct, which is completely false. Now I have to provide documentation to prove otherwise. At least I know what I'm dealing with now. Thanks everyone for the advice!

0 coins

Good luck with the documentation. Make sure to include anything that shows you quit for good cause or that the misconduct claim is false. Pay stubs, emails, witness statements, whatever you have.

Thanks everyone. I have emails from my supervisor about the issues I was dealing with, so hopefully that will be enough to prove my case.

Bottom line: no age restriction for unemployment in Washington state. If your daughter worked, earned wages, and lost her job through no fault of her own, she can file. The rest is just paperwork and following the normal UI process.

0 coins

Perfect, that's exactly what I needed to know. Thanks to everyone who responded - this has been really helpful!

You're welcome! Hope her claim goes smoothly. Just remember to keep up with the weekly claims and job search requirements.

0 coins

good luck with the application! washington esd can be a pain to deal with but the benefits are definitely worth it when you need them. your daughter should be fine as long as she meets the wage requirements

0 coins

Thank you! I feel much more confident about moving forward with her application now.

awesome! just be patient with the process and don't hesitate to reach out if you run into any issues

It's also worth noting that certain types of separations don't count against an employer's experience rating as much. Like if there's a mass layoff due to economic conditions vs individual terminations for performance issues.

0 coins

Really? I didn't know they distinguished between different types of job loss. That actually makes sense though.

0 coins

Yes, the experience rating system tries to account for circumstances beyond the employer's control. Natural disasters, economic downturns, etc. are weighted differently than high turnover due to poor management.

0 coins

bottom line is employers definitely pay for unemployment benefits through their taxes, but its not a direct payment per claim. the system is designed to spread the cost across all employers while still giving individual employers an incentive to minimize turnover and wrongful terminations

Perfect summary! This thread really helped me understand the whole system. Thanks everyone for explaining it so clearly.

0 coins

glad this helped! unemployment insurance is one of those things that affects everyone but most people don't understand how it actually works behind the scenes

0 coins

good luck with everything! losing a job sucks but at least washington has decent unemployment benefits compared to some states. hang in there

0 coins

Thanks, I appreciate the support. This whole thread has been really helpful for understanding what to expect.

Also make sure you keep applying for jobs even before your first payment comes through. The job search requirement starts right away and they can ask for proof going back to when you first filed.

0 coins

Already started applying to places. Figure the sooner I find something the better, even if the unemployment helps in the meantime.

0 coins

Smart approach. The job market isn't terrible right now for warehouse work so you might not need the full 26 weeks of benefits.
