Just wanted to add - if you worked for multiple employers during your base period, make sure to include ALL of them when you file. Washington ESD will contact each one to verify your wages.
The waiting can be nerve-wracking but try to be patient with the process. Washington ESD processes thousands of claims and they do their best to be thorough. Most eligible people do get approved eventually.
Just want to add that if Washington ESD does deny your initial claim, you can appeal the decision. Don't give up if the first answer isn't what you want to hear. The appeals process gives you another chance to present your case.
Good luck OP! Sounds like you have a decent case especially with the safety complaint timing. Keep us updated on how it goes.
Thanks for starting this thread! As a fellow freelancer, this information is really valuable. I had no idea about any of this.

final tip - take screenshots of everything when you file your claim! washington esd's website can be glitchy and having proof of what you submitted can save headaches later

This whole thread is making me realize I probably filed too early when I got laid off last month. I filed the day before my last day because I was anxious to get the process started. Wonder if that's why my claim has been taking so long to process...

•Ugh, I was afraid of that. Guess I'll have to try calling them.

•This is exactly the kind of situation where Claimyr really helps - getting through to ESD to fix timing issues like this. Much faster than trying to call on your own.
