If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One more vote for filing immediately! I was laid off on a Friday and filed that same day. Had my first payment within 10 days. The key is not to overthink it - just file as soon as you're eligible.

10 days is pretty fast! Gives me hope that I won't be waiting too long for my first payment.

0 coins

Yeah, I was surprised how quick it was. I think filing immediately and having all my info correct helped speed things up.

Last thing I'll add - if you run into any problems during the application process or need to talk to someone at Washington ESD afterward, don't give up after a few failed phone calls. Keep trying different times of day, or look into services like Claimyr that can help you get through to an actual person.

0 coins

This is so true. I almost gave up trying to reach them about a question on my claim. Finally got through and it was a simple fix that took 5 minutes once I talked to the right person.

0 coins

Exactly! Most issues are pretty straightforward once you can actually talk to someone who knows the system.

For anyone else reading this - if you need to contact Washington ESD about any of these programs and can't get through on the phone, I've had good luck with Claimyr too. Much easier than trying to call repeatedly throughout the day.

Seems like a lot of people have had success with that service. Good to know it's a reliable option.

0 coins

Definitely. I was skeptical at first but it really does work. Saved me hours of frustration trying to get through on my own.

Bottom line: paid family leave = you have a job, taking time off for family reasons. Unemployment = you don't have a job, looking for work. Completely different situations and benefit programs.

Perfect summary! That's exactly what I needed to understand. Thank you everyone for all the helpful responses!

Great thread, lots of good information here for anyone dealing with these questions.

been there done that. employer blamed wage increases but then gave management bonuses the same quarter. file your partial claim asap and don't worry about the politics

0 coins

Good point. I need to focus on the practical steps rather than getting frustrated about the reasons behind the hour cuts.

0 coins

exactly. the unemployment system exists for these situations regardless of why they happen

0 coins

quick question - do you have to do job searches for partial unemployment claims like you do for regular claims?

0 coins

Yes, you still need to meet the job search requirements even for partial claims. Washington ESD requires 3 job search activities per week unless you're on standby status.

0 coins

thanks. wasn't sure if partial claims had different requirements

I know someone mentioned Claimyr earlier for getting through to Washington ESD. I used them too when I had questions about my benefit duration and they were really helpful. Sometimes you just need to talk to an actual person to get clear answers.

How much does something like that cost? I'm already stretched thin financially.

0 coins

It's really reasonable considering how much time and frustration it saves. Much cheaper than taking time off work to keep calling them yourself, if you're still working part-time or something.

Bottom line: you get 26 weeks maximum of regular unemployment benefits in Washington. File your weekly claims on time, do your job search activities, and keep good records. Don't overthink it - thousands of people go through this process successfully every year.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information! I feel much more confident about navigating this process now.

0 coins

Good luck with your job search! The 26 weeks will give you a good cushion to find something that's a good fit.

Based on everything you've shared, it sounds like your best bet is to appeal and focus on the medical reason for your attendance issues. Document everything and consider getting a statement from your doctor if possible.

0 coins

That's a great idea about the doctor's statement. I'll ask at my next appointment.

0 coins

Medical documentation can be really powerful in unemployment appeals. Good luck with your case.

Update us on how your appeal goes! It helps other people in similar situations to hear about real experiences with the process.

0 coins

Will do! Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice. Feeling much more confident about appealing now.

0 coins

You've got this! The appeal process can be intimidating but you have good reasons to fight the denial.
