The whole system is set up to discourage people from quitting and claiming benefits. Even with legitimate good cause, expect to fight for it and be prepared with tons of documentation.
Final thought - if you do quit and file for unemployment, be completely honest in your application about why you quit. Trying to hide it or be vague will just make things worse when they investigate.

Final update from me - just got my determination letter today! Looks like I'm approved and should see payment within a few days. Thanks everyone for the advice and support!
For what it's worth, I was laid off last month and my claim was approved within 5 days. The process was actually pretty smooth once I got past the initial filing.
One last thing - make sure you start filing your weekly claims right away even if your initial claim is still being processed. You don't want to miss any weeks.

Just want to add - document everything from your former job if you can. Pay stubs, performance reviews, any emails about the overtime expectations. It might help during the adjudication process.
