Social Security payment date changing for November 2025? 3rd Wednesday confusion
I'm confused about my Social Security check for November 2025. Normally I get paid on the 3rd Wednesday of the month (I was born on the 17th), but someone at my senior center said November payments are being moved to the last week of the month? Is this true? I need to know because I have to schedule some medical procedures and I'm trying to time them for after my check comes in. Has anyone gotten any official notice about this? The SSA website doesn't mention anything about a schedule change that I could find.

No, the payment schedule isn't changing. Social Security retirement benefits are always paid on either the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Wednesday of the month, depending on your birth date. Since you were born on the 17th, yours will still be paid on the 3rd Wednesday of November, which falls on November 19, 2025. The SSA doesn't randomly change payment dates without plenty of notification.

I'm worried now too!!!! I get my check on the 4th wednesday (born on the 28th) and I NEED that money on time every month!!!! Social Security can't just change things without telling us!!! Has anyone called the SSA to confirm this rumor??? I tried calling but got disconnected THREE TIMES this morning!!!

The standard schedule remains in place: if your birthday is between the 1st-10th, you're paid on the 2nd Wednesday. Birthdays between 11th-20th get paid on the 3rd Wednesday. And birthdays between 21st-31st receive payments on the 4th Wednesday. This hasn't changed.

This happened before actually. Back in 2019 I think? Or maybe 2020. There was some kind of processing issue and they shifted some payments by a few days. Not officially announced but happened to a bunch of people in my building. Just saying it does sometimes happen without warning.

My sister works for SSA and she says they NEVER change payment dates without sending official notices months in advance. So unless you got a letter, your payment will be on the regular schedule.

To update everyone, I just received confirmation from SSA that there are NO changes to the November 2025 payment schedule. Standard payment dates based on birth dates remain in effect. The 3rd Wednesday remains November 19, 2025 for those with birthdays between the 11th-20th. This rumor appears to be completely unfounded.
