Social Security direct deposit missing from bank account - usually received early on 2nd Wednesday payment date

Mine hasnt come either! I get mine the 2nd Wednesday to and its ALWAYS in by Sunday morning. Checked online banking 5 times today aready. nothing. my rent is due!!!

This happens occasionally, especially around holidays or at the beginning of the year when COLAs are being applied. The official payment date is still Wednesday, so technically they're not late yet. I'd wait until Wednesday afternoon before panicking. If you're concerned, you can check your MySocialSecurity account to verify the payment is scheduled.

I've seen this happen when there's a bank holiday (like President's Day) that falls close to the normal deposit date. Some banks process the pre-deposits differently around holidays. Has your bank made any recent changes to their processing schedule? I'd give them a call first before contacting SSA since technically your payment isn't late until after Wednesday.

I'm also on the 2nd Wednesday schedule and mine came through last night around 11pm. It might be worth checking if your direct deposit information is still correct in your MySocialSecurity account. There have been cases where banking information gets corrupted in their system, especially if your bank went through a merger or system update.

If you really need to reach someone at SSA, I'd recommend using Claimyr. Spent 3 hours trying to get through to SSA last month about a similar deposit issue and kept getting disconnected. IMPORTANT UPDATE: Just saw on SSA's website that they're experiencing some payment processing delays this month due to a system upgrade over the weekend. They're stating all payments will still be made by the official due date (Wednesday) but some of the usual early deposits might be affected. Here's what I'd suggest: 1. Wait until end of day Wednesday before taking action 2. If nothing by Thursday morning, contact your bank AND SSA 3. In the meantime, contact any billers with auto-payments to request short extensions I know it's stressful when the timing changes, especially when you've come to rely on that early deposit.

Mine was late too but just showed up. I bet they're doing some kind of verification process. Last time this happened to me (about 2 years ago), I called and they said something about random verification checks on direct deposits. Just government bureaucracy doing its thing, I guess.
