TWC claim shows $0 benefits due to missing workplace - need help!
I'm having a problem with my unemployment claim. They didn't include one of my workplaces and now my benefits are showing up as $0. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do when I talk to them?

Ugh, been there done that. You need to gather all your pay stubs and employment records from that missing workplace. When you talk to the agent, be super clear that these earnings weren't included in your claim calculation. Don't let them brush you off!

This 👆 Make sure you have EVERYTHING ready before you call. They'll try to rush you off the phone if you're not prepared.

The system is so broken. I swear they do this on purpose to discourage people from claiming benefits. Stay strong and don't give up!

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video about it: https://youtu.be/V-IMvH88P1U

Sounds sketchy. Is this legit?

Yeah, it's totally legit. I was skeptical at first too, but it saved me hours of hold time. Worth every penny imo

How long did it take to get through?

It took about 2 hours, but I didn't have to sit there listening to hold music. They just called me when an agent was on the line.

Have you tried reaching out to your state rep? Sometimes they can light a fire under the unemployment office's a**.

I hadn't thought of that. How do I find my state rep?

Just google '[your state] find my representative'. Most have websites where you can input your address and it'll show you who represents you. Good luck!

Pro tip: keep a log of every interaction you have with the unemployment office. Date, time, who you spoke to, what was discussed. It'll save your butt if things get messy.

This is key! I wish I'd done this from the start. Ended up in a he-said-she-said situation and almost lost my benefits 😰

I had the exact same issue last year. Here's what worked for me: 1. Gathered all pay stubs and W-2s from the missing employer 2. Wrote a clear, concise letter explaining the situation 3. Faxed everything to the claims department (yes, fax - they're stuck in the stone age) 4. Followed up with daily calls until I got through 5. Once I got an agent, I politely but firmly insisted they review the faxed documents 6. Stayed on the line while they made the corrections It took about a week, but they finally fixed it and I got my correct benefits. Don't give up!

Wow, thank you so much for the detailed steps! I'll definitely try this approach. Did you have any trouble finding a fax machine?

Np! I used an online fax service. Just google 'online fax' and you'll find a bunch of options. Some are free for a limited number of pages.

Hey OP, what state are you in? The process can vary a bit depending on location.

idk if this helps, but I had a similar issue and it turned out to be a glitch in their system. The agent had to manually override something. Make sure you ask them to double-check the system!

Oh that's interesting. I'll definitely bring that up when I talk to them. Thanks!
