What phone number does PA UC use to call claimants? Need to save it

I missed a call earlier today that I think was from unemployment but my phone marked it as potential spam so I didn't pick up. Does anyone know what number PA UC uses when they call people? I want to save it in my contacts so I don't miss them again. My claim has an open issue and I'm waiting for them to contact me for verification questions. Thanks!

They usually call from 888-313-7284 which is their regular customer service number. But sometimes they use local office numbers too. I missed a call from them last month and nearly had a heart attack lol

Thank you! Saving that number now. Did they end up calling you back or did you have to call them?

I've gotten calls from several different numbers when PA UC called me about my identity verification. The main ones were 888-313-7284 and 717-525-5160. If you miss their call, they usually leave a voicemail with instructions. If they don't leave a message, you'll probably see a notification in your dashboard to call them back within a certain timeframe.

THIS EXACTLY!!! They called me from a totally different number (I think it was a 570 area code) and I almost didn't answer. Then when I did they asked me all these verification questions. They should use ONE consistent number instead of confusing everyone!!!

sometimes they use different numbers depends which department is calling u. save the main number but if ur expecting a call might wanna just answer everything for a few days

Good point, I'm getting desperate enough to answer every call at this point. Been waiting 3 weeks with this open issue.

The PA UC service center mainly calls from 888-313-7284, but as others mentioned, they can call from regional office numbers too. What's more important is knowing that if you miss their call regarding an open issue, you should proactively contact them as soon as possible. Missing their call doesn't automatically mean your claim will be denied, but waiting for them to call again could delay your benefits by weeks. If you have an open issue that's been unresolved for a while, I'd recommend using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through to an agent quickly. It helped me get through after trying for days with busy signals. They have a video demo showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2 - saved me tons of time and stress.

Thanks for this detailed info. I didn't know I should call them proactively if I miss their call - that's really helpful. I might check out that service if I don't hear back in the next couple days. Getting pretty worried about paying rent next month if this doesn't get resolved soon.

Just be careful because there are scammers who will call pretending to be from UC! They NEVER ask for your full SSN over the phone. If someone calls claiming to be UC and asks for your full social, bank info, or credit card - it's 100% a scam. Real UC agents only ask for the last 4 digits of your SSN and your PIN to verify your identity.

To answer your earlier question, they never called me back lol. I had to call them and wait on hold for like 2 hours before I got through. The whole system is so frustrating!

Ugh that's what I was afraid of. Guess I'll try calling them tomorrow morning. Thanks for letting me know!

Just want to add that when they call about open issues, they'll typically try twice before sending you a determination letter (which might be a denial if they couldn't reach you). So don't just wait indefinitely if you missed their call. Best to be proactive and call them.

That's really important info - thank you! I'm definitely going to call them first thing tomorrow morning instead of waiting for them to try again.

Quick tip - if you do have to call them tomorrow, try calling right at 8am when they open. That's usually when you have the best chance of getting through without waiting hours. Also check your voicemail and UC dashboard first to see if they left any specific instructions about what they need from you - it'll help the call go faster if you have everything ready. Good luck with getting this resolved!

That's great advice about calling right at 8am! I actually just checked my dashboard after reading this and there is a message there with some instructions. Having everything ready beforehand definitely sounds like it'll save time. Really appreciate everyone's help on this thread - feeling much more prepared now to tackle this tomorrow morning!

I just went through this exact same situation last week! PA UC called me from 717-787-3547 which I'd never seen before, so I missed it too. When I called back the main number (888-313-7284), they told me they sometimes use different regional numbers depending on which examiner is handling your case. The agent said as long as you call them back within 48 hours of a missed call, it won't negatively impact your claim. They were actually pretty understanding about the spam filter issue since it's so common now. Hope this helps!

This is super helpful! I'm glad to hear they're understanding about the spam filter issue - that makes me feel a lot better about missing their call. The 48 hour window is good to know too, gives me a bit more breathing room. Thanks for sharing your experience, it's reassuring to hear from someone who just went through the same thing!
