Strange 'Processing/Missing Wages' Message When Filing PA UC Weekly Claim - Anyone Else?
I've been on seasonal UC for about 4 months without any problems filing my weekly claims. Today when I tried to file, instead of the usual confirmation, I got this weird message saying my claim is 'processing' and that I'd hear from a representative about 'missing wages'? This makes zero sense since I haven't had ANY wages to report since I started collecting UC. The only recent change is that my company is slowly bringing people back (out of about 25 employees, they've called back like 3-4 people so far). I've worked at the same place for 7+ years and always collect unemployment during our slow season without issues. Should I just wait for them to call me? Or should I try to get ahead of this by using email/chat? Really worried this is going to delay my payment when I need it for bills next week!

Did you actually get a call? How long did it take? I'm worried because I've got rent due soon and can't afford a delay in my payment.

I went through this exact situation in January. The 'missing wages' message usually means one of three things: 1) Your employer reported something to UC that doesn't match your claims, 2) There's a system glitch, or 3) Your employer is contesting your UC because they're planning to bring you back soon. Since you mentioned coworkers being called back, I'm betting it's the third option.\n\nYou definitely shouldn't just wait. In my experience, these issues can take WEEKS to resolve if you don't stay on top of them. I'd recommend trying to contact them through every method possible. The PA UC phone lines are completely useless though - I spent 4 days trying to get through.

Oh no, WEEKS?? That's terrifying. I've never had issues with my employer contesting before, we do this seasonal layoff every year. Do you think it could be because they're bringing some people back now? Maybe my boss told UC I refused work or something when they haven't even called me yet!

After trying to call PA UC for 3 days and constantly getting busy signals, I finally used Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get through. They have a system that keeps dialing for you and gets you in the queue. Saved me so much frustration! They even have a video showing how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2\n\nThe issue you're describing sounds like what happened to me. It turned out my employer had reported my return-to-work date to UC without telling me. Once I got through to a rep, they fixed it in minutes. Don't wait - these \

Does that service actually work? I'm skeptical of anything that claims to get through to UC when their phone lines are always jammed.

Yeah, it really does work. I was skeptical too but was desperate after trying for days. They just keep auto-dialing until they get through, then call you to connect with the agent. The whole process took about 45 minutes for me, compared to the days I wasted trying to call myself.

That's what I'm afraid of! Did you ever get your issue resolved? What ended up working for you?

Thanks for the detailed advice. I just checked my portal and there's nothing new in my inbox. I'll definitely message them through the system and also check with my supervisor tomorrow to see if they submitted something about me returning. Really appreciate the help!

Thank you so much for the insider perspective! I'll definitely try calling right when they open. Should I also be gathering any documentation from my employer about the fact they haven't called me back yet?

Yes, that would be helpful. Ask your employer for written confirmation (email is fine) stating that you haven't been recalled to work yet. Having that documentation ready when you speak to a UC rep will make resolving the issue much faster.

Just wanted to follow up - were you able to get through to anyone? I'm curious what caused your issue since I might be facing the same thing soon as my company is also starting to bring people back.
