PA UC unresolved issue with uploaded documents - realistic timeline for processing?
So frustrated right now! My husband has an 'unresolved issue' status on his PA unemployment claim for over 2 weeks now. We finally got through on the phone yesterday (after 37 redials!) and the rep told him to upload some additional employment verification documents through the dashboard. He did that immediately, but when we asked how long it would take for someone to actually review these documents and resolve the issue, the rep just said 'we can't provide a timeline.' His claim is still stuck and we have bills coming due next week. Has anyone dealt with uploading documents for an unresolved issue recently? How long did it actually take for your claim to start moving again? I'm worried we'll be waiting forever with no income.

I had this EXACT same problem last month!! Took them 23 days to process my documents after I uploaded them. Called 5 times during that period and got different answers every single time. One rep said 3-5 days, another said 2 weeks, and a third just said

23 DAYS?? Omg we can't wait that long! Did you do anything special to get it processed or did it just randomly get fixed one day? And yes, he's been filing the weekly certifications even though nothing is happening with them. At least that's something we're doing right. 😞

While waiting for document reviews is frustrating, there are a few things you can do to potentially speed up the process:\n\n1. Check your dashboard daily to see if there are any new messages or requests\n2. Call early in the morning (7:55am, right before they open) which may help you get through faster\n3. Make sure the documents uploaded are clearly legible and complete - sometimes they reject documents if they can't read part of them\n\nIn my experience working with clients in similar situations, document verification is taking about 10-14 business days currently. This varies depending on what type of issue needs resolving - identity verification can be quicker than employment verification issues. If it's been longer than 2 weeks, you might want to try contacting your state representative's office. They often have unemployment liaisons who can escalate cases.

State reps office is the best advice! My cousin had a claim stuck for over a month, called her rep and it was fixed in 3 days. They have special contacts at UC who can push things through. Wish I'd known about this trick months ago!

Have you tried using Claimyr to reach a PA UC agent directly? I was stuck in document verification hell for weeks until I found their service (claimyr.com). Instead of redialing hundreds of times, they got me connected to an agent in about 20 minutes. The agent was able to look at my documents while I was on the phone and approve them right then. You can see how it works in their demo video: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2\n\nSometimes just getting through to the right kind of representative makes all the difference. The regular phone reps often can't actually process documents, but if you get connected to a claims examiner, they can review them in real-time.

OMG the PA UC system is COMPLETELY BROKEN!! I had an unresolved issue back in January and my documents sat there FOR TWO MONTHS!!!! I uploaded everything they asked for and still nothing happened. Called every day for weeks and either got busy signals or reps who couldn't help. FINALLY my claim was fixed but only after I had already maxed out three credit cards trying to pay bills. They backdated my payments but the damage was done to my credit. The worst part is they never even LOOKED at my documents - turns out it was a system glitch that flagged my account wrongly in the first place!!! 😡😡😡

This is exactly what I'm afraid of! We can't last two months with no income. That's terrifying that it might be a glitch and not even a real issue. Did you ever figure out how to get someone to actually look at your case?

Thanks for the info. 12 days seems way better than some of the horror stories here. At least there's some hope it might not take months! Did you guys do anything special to move it along?

Just checking back - has there been any movement on your husband's claim yet? I've been tracking processing times for the past few months, and I'm seeing that claims with document verification issues are currently being processed in about 8-18 business days. The processing time seems to depend on what type of issue is flagged - employment verification is taking longer than identity verification right now.

Still nothing! We're at day 17 now since uploading the documents. We're going to try contacting our state rep tomorrow as someone suggested. One question - when it does finally get processed, will we get all the back payments at once? Or will there be another delay?

To answer your question about back payments - yes, once the issue is resolved, all weeks that were properly certified during the waiting period should be released at once, usually within 2-3 business days. Make sure all weekly certifications were completed, even during this waiting period. Some people make the mistake of not filing weekly claims while waiting for an issue to be resolved, but that can create more problems.\n\nI've seen a lot of variation in processing times lately. The UC offices seem understaffed and overwhelmed. Some claims are resolved in a week while others take a month or more, even with similar issues. It's frustrating that there's no transparency about where your claim stands in the queue.

Thank you for explaining about the back payments. That's a relief! And you're right - every time we call we get a different answer about timeline. I wish they would just be honest about how long things actually take instead of leaving people in limbo.

I'm dealing with a similar situation right now - uploaded documents for an unresolved issue 8 days ago and still waiting. The uncertainty is the worst part because you can't plan anything when you don't know if it'll be resolved tomorrow or in 2 months. One thing that helped me stay organized was keeping a log of every call I made, what rep told me what, and screenshots of my dashboard each day. That way when I call again I can reference exactly what I was told before. Also discovered that calling right at 8am sharp gives you the best chance of getting through - set multiple alarms! Really hope your husband's claim gets resolved soon. The stress of not knowing when money will come in while bills pile up is awful.

•That's such a good idea about keeping a log! I'm definitely going to start doing that. We've already gotten so many different answers from different reps that it's hard to keep track of what we were told. The 8am calling tip is helpful too - we've been trying random times throughout the day which is probably why we had to redial 37 times yesterday. It really is the uncertainty that makes this so stressful. At least knowing other people are going through the same thing makes me feel less alone in this mess. Thanks for the support!

I went through this exact nightmare 3 months ago! My claim was stuck for 19 days after uploading documents for an "employment verification" issue. What finally worked for me was calling the UC office at exactly 7:59 AM and asking to speak specifically with a "claims examiner" rather than just any rep. Regular phone reps can only see basic info but can't actually process documents. The claims examiner was able to pull up my uploaded docs while I was on the phone and approve them immediately! Also want to echo what others said about contacting your state rep - that's not just a rumor, it really works. They have direct lines to UC supervisors. My neighbor got her 6-week delay resolved in 2 days that way. Hang in there - the back pay will come all at once when it's finally processed, and you won't lose any money as long as you keep filing weekly. The system is broken but you will eventually get what you're owed!
