PA UC RESEA meeting tomorrow - what should I expect at first appointment?
Just got randomly selected for a RESEA meeting with PA UC and I'm freaking out a little. My appointment is tomorrow morning and I have no idea what to expect. Has anyone gone through this recently? Do they try to trip you up or is it just basically checking that you're looking for work? I'm worried because I've been applying to jobs but haven't saved all my search details. Will they cut off my benefits if I can't show them everything? Any tips on how to prepare would be really appreciated!

I had my RESEA appointment about 2 months ago. It's not as scary as it sounds! RESEA stands for Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment. It's mostly about helping you with your job search, not trying to disqualify you. The appointment lasted about an hour. They: - Verified my ID - Reviewed my work search activities (they want to see you're making the required efforts) - Asked about any job interviews - Helped update my resume - Gave info about CareerLink services - Scheduled a follow-up Just bring any job search records you have, your photo ID, and your resume if you have one. Be honest about your job search efforts. They're actually quite helpful!

•Thank you SO much for the detailed response! That's a relief. I do have notes on my phone of places I've applied but not printed out. Will that be good enough? And should I bring anything else besides ID and resume?

DONT BELIVE what theyre telling u!!!! RESEA is 100% about cutting people off benefits. i had mine last year and they DQ'd me because i didnt have PRINTED copies of my job searchs. they said screenshots on my phone wasnt good enough!!! brought my benifits to a dead stop for 3 weeks until i appealled. the whole systems rigged to kick people off!!!

•This wasn't my experience at all. My RESEA person was actually really nice and helped me find some job leads. Maybe it depends on who you get?

I completed my RESEA appointment in January 2025. Here's exactly what you need to bring: 1. Government-issued photo ID 2. Social Security card (or know your number) 3. Updated resume (if you have one) 4. Documentation of your work search activities (at least 6 activities over the past two weeks) They will verify all your information is accurate in the system, review your work search efforts, and provide resources to help you find employment faster. They'll also schedule a follow-up appointment. Make sure you can demonstrate that you've completed at least 6 work search activities for the last two weeks. This can include job applications, attending job fairs, networking events, etc. If you haven't documented everything properly, just be honest about what you've done.

•Thank you for the specific list! I'm relieved I don't need to bring bank statements or anything like that. I'm going to spend tonight organizing my job search info to make sure I have everything ready.

Has anyone else been having trouble even getting through to PA UC on the phone to ask questions about these RESEA meetings? I tried calling all day yesterday to ask what documentation exactly I needed to bring to mine next week but kept getting busy signals or disconnected. So frustrating when they require these meetings but don't make themselves available for questions!

•I had the same problem trying to reach them about my open issues! Eventually gave up and tried Claimyr (claimyr.com) - they got me connected to an actual PA UC rep in about 20 minutes. They have a video on how it works: https://youtu.be/CEPETxZdo9E?si=WL1ZzVZWG3KiHrg2. Saved me hours of redial hell. The rep was able to tell me exactly what to bring to my RESEA appointment.

Quick update on the work search documentation since there seems to be conflicting information. According to the PA UC guidelines, you need to demonstrate that you've completed at least 6 work search activities for the two-week period. These can include: - Applying for jobs (online or in-person) - Attending job fairs - Creating profiles on job search websites - Registering with staffing agencies - Attending networking events - Taking job skills workshops For each activity, they want to see: date of activity, type of activity, employer/organization name, position (if applicable), and method of contact. Digital records are technically acceptable, but having printouts makes the process smoother. The key is being able to verify your activities when asked.

•This is super helpful, thank you! I've definitely done more than 6 activities in the past two weeks, but some were just browsing job sites without applying. I'll make sure to only count the ones where I actually applied or took action.

Good luck with your meeting! Mine was last month and it went fine. My advisor mostly focused on helping me improve my resume and suggesting some training programs I could take. They really just want to see that you're making an effort to find work. :

UPDATE: Had my RESEA meeting this morning and it went way better than expected! My advisor was actually really helpful. She reviewed my work search activities (the notes on my phone were fine!), helped me update my resume, and connected me with some industry-specific resources I didn't know about. She also scheduled a follow-up for 3 weeks from now. Thanks everyone for calming my nerves and for the helpful advice!

•That's great news! The follow-up meeting is usually shorter and just checks on your progress. Glad it went well!
