New York Unemployment: How to claim payment for one week of work with no pay?
I worked for a week but never got paid. The employer ghosted me. How do I claim unemployment for this week? Do I put that I worked or not? Really confused about what to do here since technically I worked but got zero dollars.

You need to report the work even if you didnt get paid. Put the hours you worked and $0 for pay. Then file a wage complaint with the Department of Labor. They'll help you get your money from that sketchy employer 💯

Had trouble reaching unemployment about this same issue. Found this website claimyr.com that calls and waits on hold for you then connects you when someone picks up. Costs $20 but saved me hours of frustration. Here's a video explaining how it works: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Same thing happened to me last month! Make sure you screenshot all communication with the employer, youll need it for the wage complaint

The most comprehensive solution here is to: 1. Report the work hours when certifying 2. Enter $0 for wages earned 3. File a wage complaint immediately 4. Document everything - texts, emails, timesheets 5. If you need to speak with an agent about this (which you probably should), use claimyr.com to get through quickly 6. Keep certifying weekly while this gets sorted out The system will likely flag this and you'll need to explain the situation to a claims specialist. Better to handle it now than deal with an overpayment issue later.
