NYDOL says my work history is incomplete - How to fix this and keep my UI benefits?
Hey everyone, I'm having some trouble with my unemployment claim. I just got a notice from the Department of Labor saying there's an issue with my work history being incomplete. Has anyone else dealt with this? What should I do to fix it? I'm worried about losing my benefits.

Ugh, been there done that. The DOL can be such a pain sometimes. Have you tried logging into your account and double-checking all the info you submitted? Sometimes there's just a small detail missing that can hold everything up.

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely go back and check. Do you remember which section specifically might be causing the issue?

It could be a few things, but I'd start with the employment history section. Make sure all your dates are correct and you haven't left any gaps. Also, double-check that you've included ALL your employers from the base period.

I had a similar issue last year. Here's what worked for me: ā¢ Gather all your pay stubs and W-2 forms from the past 18 months ā¢ Make a detailed list of all your employers, including start and end dates ā¢ Call the DOL and ask for a 'work history review' ā¢ Be prepared to fax or email additional documentation It's a hassle, but stay persistent. Don't let them give you the runaround. Good luck!

Wow, thank you so much for this detailed advice! I'll definitely follow these steps. Did it take long for them to resolve your issue once you provided all the info?

It took about 2 weeks for them to process everything and update my claim. Just keep checking your online account for updates. And don't be afraid to follow up if you don't hear anything after a week or so.

Hey, I found a way to actually get someone on the phone at the DOL. I used this site's (claimyr.com) calling tool that dials the phone menu, stays on hold, waits for a live agent to pick up, then sends the call to my phone. It does cost $20, but it works. Here's a video explaining it: https://youtu.be/Rdqa1gKtxuE

Nah, it's legit. I was skeptical too but it actually worked. Saved me hours of hold time.

20 bucks tho? That's steep when you're already hurting for cash š¬

@profile 8 I get that, but for me it was worth it to finally get my issue resolved. Beats losing weeks of benefits over a stupid paperwork issue.

Have you tried reaching out to your local state representative? Sometimes they can help push things along with the DOL. Worth a shot if you're getting nowhere on your own.

OP, make sure you're keeping detailed records of EVERYTHING. Every call, every letter, every online submission. You never know when you might need to prove you've been trying to resolve this. CYA always when dealing with govt agencies!

That could be it! I'll dig up my old paystubs and see if I can get a letter from my last job. Thanks for the suggestion!
