Can I get back pay for New York Unemployment from December to now?
I just lost my job in December but waited until now to file for unemployment. Will they still back pay me for the weeks I didn't file? Really need help with this cause I've been living off savings and credit cards since then.

You can only backdate your claim to the Sunday of the week you became unemployed, but you NEED to have a good reason why you waited so long to file. They gonna ask you about this and you better have documentation ready.

•Depression might work if you have medical documentation. But tbh they usually want something like hospital stays or proof you couldn't access internet/phone 🤷♂️
