Wrong IP PIN causing 6-week delay - Return processing since Feb 6th

Just got off the phone with IRS. My return is delayed because I entered my IP PIN incorrectly. They said it'll take 6 weeks to process, counting from February 6th. At least its moving forward now. Anyone else dealing with IP PIN issues?

The IP PIN verification delay is pretty standard. When the system detects a mismatch, it triggers a manual review process. The 6-week timeframe they gave you is accurate. Keep checking your transcript for code 971 followed by 290 - that's usually when they resolve the IP PIN issue.

Pro tip: Set a calendar reminder to get your new IP PIN in January next year. They reset annually and catching it early prevents this whole mess
