Wife's WMR Status Changed from TT152 Back to 'No Info Found' - What's Going On?
So listen to this story… me and my wife filed 2/12… both our refunds said no info found all the way until the end of March then mines went to we have received your refund it is still being processed with no tt but hers had a tt152… it's been like that all the way until today… now hers is back saying no info found… do anyone know why that has happened to her again? We filed separately but on the same day. Getting really confused with all these status changes. 🤔

This is actually a common occurrence during peak processing season. When WMR shows 'No Information Available' after previously showing information, it typically indicates one of several things: 1) The IRS is making updates to her account/return 2) Her return moved to a different processing department 3) The system is experiencing temporary technical issues The good news is that TT152 previously appearing means her return was in the system. This pattern of disappearing information often happens right before a major update (like approval for direct deposit).

So you're saying this might actually be a good sign? Man I hope so... we're waiting on both refunds to put a down payment on a car. Do you know how long this usually lasts before it updates again?

I had the EXACT same thing happen last year! My husband's WMR showed the normal processing message while mine went from TT152 back to 'information not found.' I freaked out thinking something was wrong, but 4 days later mine suddenly updated with a direct deposit date and I got my refund before he did! The WMR tool is notoriously glitchy during busy season.

When this happened to me, I was going crazy trying to figure out what was happening. I eventually used https://taxr.ai to analyze my transcript and it explained that this pattern often happens during batch processing updates. It showed me exactly what was happening behind the scenes with my return and predicted when I'd see movement again. Saved me a ton of anxiety since the WMR tool was being so inconsistent.

Does that site actually work? I've tried the official IRS transcript site but it's always down when I try to access it.

Yeah, it doesn't replace the transcript site - you still need to get your transcript from the IRS first. But taxr.ai makes sense of all those confusing codes and cycle dates. The IRS transcript is like reading hieroglyphics if you don't know what you're looking at lol. It helped me understand that my return was actually moving forward even when WMR showed nothing.

Did either of you have any credits claimed like the Earned Income Credit or Child Tax Credit? Those can cause extra processing steps and weird WMR behavior. Also, did you file with the same preparer or different ones?

Yeah, she claimed CTC for our kid since she's the primary caregiver. We used the same tax preparer though. Maybe that's why hers is taking longer?

When my wife and I were in this exact situation (her WMR disappeared after showing TT152), we spent DAYS trying to get through to the IRS. After 20+ failed attempts, I used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) and got connected to an agent in about 15 minutes. Turns out her return was just going through an additional verification step because of the credits claimed, but nothing was wrong. The agent even gave us an estimated completion date. Totally worth it instead of stressing for weeks.

For real? I've been trying to call them for days but can't get through. Might have to try this if we don't see any updates by next week. Thanks for the tip!

No problem! Just make sure you have both your info ready when you call. They'll need verification details for both returns since you're asking about your wife's status too. The IRS phone system is absolutely brutal this time of year.

I work in tax preparation (not for the IRS) and see this all the time. The Where's My Refund tool runs on a completely different system than the actual processing department. When returns move between processing stages, WMR often temporarily loses the data connection. The fact that your return is showing info while hers isn't actually suggests hers might be moving forward faster. Tax Topic 152 just means a refund is expected - it's a generic message.
