Why Does My 2024 IRS Account Transcript Show Dates in 2025 (Feb 16, Feb 17, Mar 3) with All $0.00 Amounts and Empty Transaction Section?

Looking at my 2024 account transcript from the IRS and I'm confused about all these different dates. The Request Date shows 02-17-2025, Response Date shows 02-16-2025 (which is weird because it's before the request?), and then it says AS OF: Mar. 03, 2025. The transcript is from the Department of the Treasury Internal Revenue Service and states "This Product Contains Sensitive Taxpayer Data." My tracking number is 107477149788. The transcript shows my filing status as Head of Household, but what's really confusing me is that EVERYTHING is showing $0.00 amounts. There's a part that says "MINUS SIGN SHOWN BELOW SIGNIFIES A CREDIT AMOUNT" but then all the transaction values show 0.00. The document clearly states: ``` TAX PERIOD: Dec. 31, 2024 AS OF: Mar. 03, 2025 0.00 AS OF: Mar. 03, 2025 0.00 ``` And then under INFORMATION FROM THE RETURN OR AS ADJUSTED, it just shows my filing status as Head of Household. There appears to be a TRANSACTIONS section but there's nothing populated there - no dates, no amounts, just empty fields for "OF TRANSACTION", "CYCLE DATE", and "AMOUNT". My tax ID number on the transcript ends with 3502. I'm really confused about why all these different dates are showing and why every single amount is showing as $0.00. Does this mean my return hasn't been processed yet? Or is there some kind of problem? Can someone help me understand what these dates mean and what's going on with all these zeros in my account transcript?

The IRS transcript shows you're at the very beginning of the 2024 tax processing cycle. Your transcript has a tracking number 107477149787 and contains several key dates: you requested it on February 17, 2025, and the IRS generated it on February 16, 2025. The March 3, 2025 "AS OF" date is a future processing cycle date used by the IRS for internal administrative purposes. All the $0.00 entries are completely normal at this stage - they indicate that while your return has been received and your Head of Household filing status is recorded (as shown in the "INFORMATION FROM THE RETURN" section), no financial transactions have been processed yet. The transcript notes that "MINUS SIGN SHOWN BELOW SIGNIFIES A CREDIT AMOUNT" which is standard IRS notation, though currently there are no credits showing since processing hasn't begun. Your partial SSN ending in 3502 is listed as the identification number, confirming this is your personal transcript. The zero dollar amounts throughout the "TRANSACTIONS" section will be updated as the IRS processes your return and any refunds or payments are posted to your account.

thx for explaining! so the zeros mean they havnt started processing my return yet?

Exactly! Give it some time, those zeros will update once they start processing 👍

Instead of trying to decode these dates yourself, you should try taxr.ai - its only $1 and it analyzes your entire transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. Saved me hours of googling and guessing https://taxr.ai

Pro tip: check your transcript again in about a week. Those zeros should start updating with actual numbers once they begin processing your return. The AS OF date might change too.

Those confusing dates are totally normal! The Request Date (Feb 17) being after the Response Date (Feb 16) happens because of time zones and when the IRS system processes requests vs generates the actual transcript. The "AS OF" March 3rd date is just the IRS's next processing cycle date - think of it like a snapshot date they use internally. All those $0.00 amounts are actually a good sign - it means your return was received and your filing status (Head of Household) is in their system, but they just haven't started the actual number crunching yet. The empty TRANSACTIONS section will populate with refund amounts, payment dates, etc. once they process everything. Since you filed for 2024, you're probably looking at 2-3 weeks before those zeros turn into real numbers. Keep checking weekly and you should see activity soon!
