TurboTax Filers submitted 2/19 with EIC - Update Thread

Hey fellow tax peeps! 👋 Just created this thread for all of us who filed through TurboTax around February 19th and claimed the Earned Income Credit. Let's keep each other updated on our refund status! Mine was accepted same day (2/19) but still showing processing on WMR. No transcript updates yet. Anyone else in the same boat? Please share when you see movement! 😊

Filed and accepted 2/19 through TurboTax as well. Claimed EIC and CTC for my two kids. Still on first bar of WMR with the message about it being processed. Transcript shows N/A for 2023. This waiting game is killing me! 😩

Exactly the same situation! Do you have any idea how long EIC returns typically take this season? I've heard they're extra slow this year.

The PATH Act requires the IRS to hold all EITC/CTC refunds until at least February 15th. Even though that date has passed, the verification process still takes additional time. Most EIC filers are seeing 21-30 days from acceptance to deposit this season, with many taking the full 30 days.

Filed 2/18, accepted 2/19. I have EIC and I'm still waiting too. My sister filed 2/5 with EIC and just got her deposit yesterday, so it took her about 30 days. Seems like they're moving slow this year. 🐌

I was in the same situation (filed 2/17, accepted 2/19, claimed EIC). Just got my transcript updated this morning! I used https://taxr.ai to analyze it and it explained all those confusing codes. Apparently my 570 code wasn't even a problem - just part of normal processing. The tool predicted my deposit date as next Wednesday based on the 846 code that appeared. Super helpful since the IRS transcript looks like gibberish to me!

How accurate was that site? I'm wondering if it's worth checking out since I can never understand what my transcript means.

It was spot on for me. I got my deposit exactly when it predicted. The best part was understanding what each code actually meant for MY specific situation instead of just generic explanations. Definitely worth it if you're confused by all the IRS jargon.

UPDATE: Just checked my account and my refund hit this morning! Filed/accepted 2/19 through TurboTax with EIC. Transcript updated 3 days ago with an 846 code. Hang in there everyone!

That's awesome! Gives me hope. Did your WMR update before the deposit or did it just show up?

WMR never updated past the first bar for me. I only knew it was coming because I checked my transcript and saw the 846 code.

I filed 2/19 with TurboTax too, claimed EIC and Additional Child Tax Credit. Called the IRS yesterday after trying for THREE DAYS straight and getting nowhere. Finally used Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) and got through to an agent in like 15 minutes. They confirmed my return is still in normal processing with no issues, just backed up. Said I should see movement within the next week. Worth the fee just for peace of mind honestly.

I've been calling for days too! How does Claimyr work? Do they just keep calling for you?

Yeah basically they have a system that navigates all the IRS phone menus and holds your place in line. When they reach an agent, they call you and connect you. Saved me hours of frustration and "all circuits are busy" messages.

FINALLY GOT MY DDD! Filed and accepted 2/19, claimed EIC. Transcript updated overnight with 846 code dated for 3/20. WMR still shows processing though. Check your transcripts people!

I'm starting to get worried. Same boat - filed 2/19 with TurboTax, claimed EIC. Still nothing. Transcript still N/A. WMR just says it's being processed. It's been 30 days now. Should I be concerned?

While most EIC returns are processing within 30 days, some are taking up to 45 days this year. If you reach 45 days with no updates, that would be the appropriate time to contact the IRS. The current backlog is significant but not unusual for this time in the tax season.
