Refund Hit Cash App Today! 0505 Cycle with 3/12 DDD
Cash app hit around 4:30 today! 0505 cycle with DDD 3/12. Got it exactly on the date they promised. I pray everyone gets their money without any discrepancies. This tax season was smoother than I expected after last year's nightmare when I had just graduated. See y'all next year... same time, same place! βπΎβπΎ

Congrats on getting your refund! The 0505 cycle code is typically one of the more reliable ones. According to the IRS refund schedule posted at irs.gov/refunds, direct deposits with that cycle are processed weekly and usually hit accounts on the exact DDD. Cash App and some other online banks are known to release funds as soon as the ACH is initiated, sometimes 1-2 days earlier than traditional banks.

Did you have any tax credits this year? I'm wondering if the processing time is different for people claiming Child Tax Credit or Earned Income Credit compared to standard returns?

I'm still waiting on mine with exactly the same cycle code. Filed on February 1st, accepted at 10:23am that same day. My transcript shows CTC of $1,500 and I'm wondering if that's why mine is taking exactly 41 days so far with no deposit yet...

Thanks for asking this! I was wondering the same thing. My sister got hers in 14 days with no credits, but I claimed EITC and I'm on day 32 with the same cycle code. Seems like credits definitely slow things down compared to simpler returns.

I've been through this cycle code timing game for years now. One thing I've learned is that when your transcript shows a specific DDD but you're not seeing movement, calling the IRS can sometimes help. Last year I used Claimyr (https://youtu.be/_kiP6q8DX5c) after waiting 3 weeks past my DDD with no deposit. Got through to an agent in about 15 minutes who found that my bank had rejected the deposit due to a name mismatch. They reissued it that same day after I verified my info. Without that call I might've been waiting for months.

I'm a bit hesitant about using third-party services to contact the IRS... How do you know it's secure? Couldn't you just keep calling the regular number until you get through?

I was skeptical too until I spent 4 hours on redial hell last month. Claimyr just navigates the phone tree for you - they don't access your personal info. I finally got through to a real person who fixed an issue with my address verification that was holding up my refund. The regular number had me on hold for 2+ hours before disconnecting me three separate times.

For anyone still waiting on their refund, here are some tips from my experience working with hundreds of tax clients: β’ Check your transcript weekly, not daily (reduces anxiety) β’ Cycle code 0505 means your account is updated on Thursdays β’ If you have a 570 code, expect a notice within 7-10 days β’ Direct deposit typically arrives 1-5 days after your DDD β’ Cash App and online banks often deposit 1-2 days earlier than traditional banks β’ If it's been more than 21 days since filing, use the "Where's My Refund" tool before calling

I'm always suspicious when people post about getting their refunds so quickly. Most people I know (including myself) are still waiting, especially with all the verification delays this year. The IRS website clearly states 21 days is the minimum for most refunds, and those with credits can take 4-6 weeks. Maybe you got lucky, but this isn't the norm for most filers right now.

Nah, OP's timeline is legit. The 0505 cycle is processing on schedule rn. I work w/ tax prep and most of our clients w/ that cycle code are getting their DDDs as expected. The IRS is actually ahead of schedule compared to last yr. The 21-day guideline is just the IRS covering themselves. Simple returns w/o credits are moving faster this season, esp if you e-filed in Feb. Congrats on getting your $$ OP!
