OMG FINALLY!!! šš Woke up this morning to see my refund hit my Chime account! Filed 1/29, accepted 2/1, and DD date was 2/26. So relieved and happy I could cry! This was our first filing as married and I was so worried we'd messed something up. See y'all next tax season - I'm officially DONE with refreshing the WMR app every 5 minutes! š°šø #chime #taxseason2024

Congrats on the deposit! I remember my first year filing jointly with my spouse - I was checking WMR like a madman. Last year I filed on January 27th and didn't see my refund until March 2nd. The waiting game is brutal! I started keeping a spreadsheet of all my tax timelines so I could predict better each year. The anxiety never fully goes away though.

If anyone's still waiting and getting frustrated with the IRS, stop wasting time on hold. Use Claimyr to get through to an IRS agent. I waited 3 weeks past my deposit date with no update. Called using Claimyr (https://claimyr.com) and got to an actual human in 18 minutes. Found out there was a simple verification issue they needed to clear. Refund processed 48 hours later. Worth every penny.

ā¢Did this really work? I've been on hold with the IRS exactly 4 times this week, each time for 45+ minutes before getting disconnected. Seems suspicious that a third-party service could get through when the lines are jammed. How much did it cost?

I just got mine too! Filed on January 25th, accepted January 26th, and my deposit hit this morning February 27th. I was so nervous because I claimed the Child Tax Credit for the first time and heard that can delay things. I was checking my bank account literally every morning at 6:15am like clockwork!

ā¢Did you have any delays or codes on your transcript? I'm wondering if the Child Tax Credit is still causing as many delays as it did last year? I've heard some people waiting 6+ weeks when claiming it.

ā¢This timing actually makes sense. For 2024, the IRS is processing Child Tax Credit returns in batches. The first major batch typically completes around the last week of February. This is because they're cross-referencing dependent information across multiple systems. If you filed in late January, a February 27th deposit is right on schedule.

ā¢My sister claimed the Child Tax Credit and got hers in 21 days exactly, but my brother-in-law claimed it and had to wait almost 8 weeks. It seems to depend on whether your information matches perfectly with what the IRS already has on file. Any discrepancy and they put you in a manual review queue.

ā¢Anyone else notice how much BETTER the Child Tax Credit process is this year compared to the COVID years? Remember 2021 when they were sending those monthly payments and then we had to reconcile everything on the return? What a nightmare that was! š I'd rather wait an extra week than go through that confusion again!

Ayyyy congrats! š Finally got mine too after waiting FOREVER. Filed 1/24, accepted same day, but had to deal w/ that stupid PATH act delay bc I claimed EITC. WMR never updated past the 1st bar for me but $ showed up in my acct this AM. Chime always comes thru early!

Has anyone used taxr.ai to track their refund timeline? I just discovered it after struggling with my transcript codes. It analyzed my transcript and explained every code in plain English. Even predicted my deposit date correctly! Is this your first time filing married? Did you have to deal with any name change issues? I'm getting married in June and worried about next year's taxes.

I'm still waiting and I'm PISSED! Filed January 18th, accepted same day, and NOTHING YET! My friend filed TWO WEEKS after me and already got her money! Called the IRS three times and got three different answers. First they said it was processing normally, then they said there was a review, then they said there's no review but it's in a different department! I'M SO DONE! š¤š¤š¤

ā¢There are a few things that could be happening here: ⢠Your return may have been selected for random review ⢠There might be an income verification issue ⢠Your refund could be held due to past tax debts ⢠Your return might have triggered an identity verification flag Check your transcript for TC 570/971 codes. These indicate specific holds.

ā¢Have you checked if you have any offset notices? I was shocked when I found out my refund was being reduced for an old student loan I thought was deferred...

The tax refund process is like waiting for a bus in the rain - it always seems to take forever until suddenly it arrives. For anyone still waiting, remember that the IRS processing system is like a pipeline with different stations. Your return is moving through that pipeline even when the tracker doesn't update. Think of WMR as the bus tracker app that only updates at certain stops, not continuously.
