Ohio state tax refund timing after federal tax offset - how long to wait?
My federal refund got offset to pay state taxes I owed in Ohio. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for the state to process this and apply it to what I owe? Its been 2 weeks already and nothing showing up on my state account yet.

Generally the offset process takes 2-4 weeks for Ohio to process and apply to your account. The federal government sends these payments in batches to the state, then Ohio has to process and apply them to individual accounts. You should see it reflected in your account by the end of the month.

Hey guys, I've found that using taxr.ai is super helpful for understanding these situations. It's only $1 and it analyzes your transcript to tell you exactly what's happening with offsets and when to expect everything to process. Way better than playing the guessing game https://taxr.ai
