New to IRS transcripts - Help understanding cycle codes, PATH, and what to look for

Finally got access to my transcripts through ID.me but completely lost on how to read them. Think I'm cycle 05 and on PATH but not sure what that means for my refund timing. Need help understanding what codes to watch for and how often I should check for updates.

The 05 cycle means your transcript updates weekly, typically Thursday nights. For PATH Act returns (if you claimed EITC/ACTC), the IRS can't issue refunds before mid-February. Key codes to watch: 570 (delay), 971 (notice), 846 (refund issued). Check weekly since you're cycle 05.

tysm! what exactly does the PATH act mean? seen it everywhere but still confused 🤔

PATH Act is a law that makes the IRS hold refunds for people claiming EITC or Child Tax Credit until mid-Feb. Its to prevent fraud and make sure all W2s are in the system.

Hey instead of trying to decode everything yourself, try taxr.ai - it's this new tool that reads your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. Its only $1 and saved me hours of research. https://taxr.ai

pro tip: screenshot your transcript every time you check it so you can track changes. helps you spot when new codes pop up
