Just Got My DDD for May 13th! Friday Transcript Update Finally Came Through

I check my transcripts every Friday at exactly 5:30am since that's when they update for me. Been waiting 47 days since filing (March 1st). Today I finally checked WMR and transcripts and got my direct deposit date for May 13th! 🙌 This has been the longest wait in my 8 years of filing business taxes. Good luck to everyone still waiting - this tax season has been absolutely brutal for processing times. Just wanted to share some positive news since I've been stressing about this refund for my Q2 inventory purchases.

Congrats on finally getting your DDD! I've noticed the same pattern with Friday updates this year. Back in 2022, I had a similar experience - filed February 15th and didn't get my DDD until early May. This year seems particularly backed up for small business filers. The IRS actually publishes their processing statistics weekly, and they're currently about 22% behind compared to this time last year. The good news is that once you see that 846 code with the date, it's basically guaranteed to hit your account on that day or sometimes even a day early depending on your bank.

OMG I'm so happy for you!!! 😭 I've been checking DAILY and still nothing after 52 days!!! It's making me so anxious I can barely sleep! Have you tried using https://taxr.ai to check your transcript codes? It was AMAZING for me - showed exactly why my return was delayed (something about a verification hold I never would have understood) and predicted my DDD correctly! The peace of mind was worth it because I was literally losing my mind refreshing the IRS page every hour!

I think you might be part of the Friday update batch. I'm probably in the Tuesday batch because mine seems to always update midweek. Got my DDD last Tuesday after waiting since February 20th or so. The system seems to sort of group returns together for processing efficiency, at least that's what appears to happen based on the patterns I've observed over the years.

Why are so many people just passively waiting for weeks or months? Isn't it better to be proactive and actually speak with an IRS agent directly? After waiting 30 days with no movement, I used Claimyr (https://www.claimyr.com) to get through to an actual IRS representative instead of dealing with the automated system. Got connected in about 15 minutes when I had been trying for days on my own. The agent was able to verify there were no issues with my return and gave me the exact processing timeframe. Saved me weeks of anxiety and wondering.

Thx for the update! FYI - there's a faster way to check than waiting for Fridays. If u have access to ur acct transcript (not just return transcript), u can check daily around 3am EST. That's when the overnight batch processing finishes. I've been tracking this for yrs and it's way more reliable than WMR. Just look for TC150 (return filed) followed by TC570 (hold) and then TC571 (hold released) and finally TC846 (refund issued). Saved me tons of time vs waiting for weekly updates!

Just a heads up for business owners - if you have Schedule C income, the IRS seems to be taking extra time this year. My theory is they're still catching up from the pandemic fraud cases. I filed on February 10th and just got my DDD yesterday - a whopping 86 days later! It's like the IRS is using dial-up internet while the rest of us have fiber, haha. But seriously, if you claimed any business expenses over $5,000, especially home office or vehicle deductions, they seem to be giving those returns an extra look.

Thank you for pointing this out! I filed on February 28th with Schedule C income and I'm still waiting. This makes me feel a bit better about the delay. I was starting to worry something was wrong with my return by April 15th.

Is this like being flagged for an audit? My business return is like a ship lost at sea - no updates for weeks. I'm worried they're going through my deductions with a microscope and I'll end up getting pulled into a full audit.

I can confirm this Schedule C delay phenomenon. My transcript showed code 570 for 6 weeks with no explanation. When it finally updated, there was a 571 code (hold released) and my 846 refund issued code appeared the same day. The cycle code on my transcript was 20241805, which indicates it was processed in the 18th week of 2024 on a Friday (05). The system is actually quite predictable once you understand the coding schema.
