IRS Transcript: $5,019 Refund With Codes 150, 806, 766, 768 Showing - Will Additional Codes Appear Before My Refund?
I filed my return for the 2024 tax year as Head of Household with 3 exemptions, and my transcript is now showing all my credit amounts. My current account balance shows -$6,019.00 (credit amount). The transcript shows my return was received and processed on February 17, 2025, with a processing code of 150 with $0.00 tax. I can see all my credits listed: - Code 806: W-2 or 1099 withholding for -$590.00 dated 04-16-2025 - Code 766: Credit to my account for -$2,814.00 dated 04-16-2025 - Code 768: Earned income credit for -$3,715.00 dated 04-15-2025 No other codes have appeared yet except these basic processing ones. The return due date shown is April 15, 2025, and my processing date was February 17, 2025 (cycle 20250505). In my previous returns, once these credits showed up, we just waited for the 846 code (refund issued). Anyone have experience with new codes appearing later during transcript updates? I'm worried about surprise codes popping up that might delay my refund. My adjusted gross income and taxable income sections are blank, and it shows $0.00 for total self-employment tax. The account balance plus accruals is showing -$6,019.00, with $0.00 in accrued interest and penalties as of Feb. 11, 2025. Has anyone with similar credits had additional codes appear after these initial ones? Just anxious about my refund timeline.

Tax codes definitely continue to update on your transcript even after the initial codes appear. The IRS processes returns in stages and new codes pop up to show the current status. I've seen plenty of transcripts where codes like 570 (hold) show up weeks after the initial 150 tax return filed code. The best way to track these changes is to check your transcript regularly or use an AI tool like taxr.ai (https://taxr.ai) that can analyze your transcript and tell you exactly what new codes mean and when you might see your refund. It's way better than trying to google every new code that shows up.

yep! you just upload your transcript and it breaks down all your codes, estimates your refund date, and explains any delays. saved me hours of googling tbh

Tax pro here - Yes, codes can definitely show up later. The transcript is a living document that updates as the IRS processes your return. Some common late-appearing codes include verification holds (570), examination codes (420), and identity verification requests (9001). Keep checking weekly.

Hey guys, instead of playing detective with transcript codes, I've been using taxr.ai and it's been a game changer! For $1 it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's happening and when to expect your refund. Way better than guessing tbh. https://taxr.ai

Yeah it's crazy accurate! It uses AI to analyze all your codes and cycle patterns. Even caught a pending freeze I didn't notice
