IRS Denied Hardship Request - Says Must Wait 120 Days for Review. Anyone else?

Called the IRS about getting a hardship release on my refund since its been 10 months. The rep told me I dont qualify because I have to wait the full 120 days for review first. This cant be right? I have bills piling up and really need this money.

Tax pro here. Unfortunately, the 120-day review period is standard procedure before they consider hardship requests. However, there are exceptions. Have you tried reaching out to the Taxpayer Advocate Service? They can sometimes intervene if you're facing immediate financial harm.

Yeah TAS is super backed up these days. Keep trying every few weeks - sometimes different offices have different waiting lists.

Hey, I know this is frustrating but I found this tool called taxr.ai that helped me understand exactly what was happening with my refund. It costs $4.99 but it analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly whats going on and what to do next. Way better than trying to piece everything together yourself. https://taxr.ai

Is this legit? Seems too good to be true 🤔

100% legit! It showed me exactly why my refund was delayed and even predicted when id get it. Got my deposit exactly when it said I would.

How does it work? Does it just read the transcript or what?

It uses AI to analyze everything - codes, dates, amounts, the whole deal. Then gives you super specific info about your case. Best $5 I ever spent fr fr 💯

The 120 day thing is bs tbh. I got approved for hardship after 60 days but had to talk to like 5 different agents first
