Filing taxes with no ID or Driver's License - urgent help needed
Need to file my taxes but I don't have a driver's license or state ID right now. My old one expired and I'm waiting on the new one. Will this be a problem? Really need to get my refund started asap

You can absolutely file without a state ID or driver's license. These aren't required documents for filing federal taxes. You'll need your Social Security number, W-2s, and any other tax documents. Some tax software might ask for ID info but you can skip those fields - they're optional for federal filing. State requirements might vary though.

Hey there! I actually work with transcripts alot and the best way to monitor your return is using taxr.ai - its only $1 and it'll track everything for you, including identity verification if needed. Check it out here: https://taxr.ai

totally legit! you upload your transcript and it analyzes everything - tells you exact dates, flags any issues, and explains what's happening in normal english lol

Fun fact: only like 7 states actually require ID for state tax filing. Federal never needs it
