Filed Oct 2022, $29,538 Refund with 810 Freeze Code Since October - No Movement for 8 Months

Filed my 2021 taxes back in October 2022 and still nothing. When I check Where's My Refund it just says processing. I filed on Oct. 05, 2022 (which was the due date or return received date according to my account transcript) and it's been stuck ever since. I pulled my Account Transcript from the IRS website today (06-03-2023) and I'm trying to figure out what's going on. The transcript shows: FORM NUMBER: 1040 TAX PERIOD: Dec. 31, 2021 ACCOUNT BALANCE: -$29,538.00 ACCRUED INTEREST: 0.00 AS OF: Feb. 14, 2023 ACCRUED PENALTY: 0.00 AS OF: Feb. 14, 2023 ACCOUNT BALANCE PLUS ACCRUALS: -$29,538.00 From my return: FILING STATUS: Single ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME: $39,875.00 TAXABLE INCOME: $27,025.00 TAX PER RETURN: $3,924.00 The transcript shows these transactions: CODE EXPLANATION OF TRANSACTION CYCLE DATE AMOUNT 150 Tax return filed 20224405 11-22-2022 $3,924.00 76221-678-13759-2 806 W-2 or 1099 withholding 04-16-2022 -$2,064.00 290 Additional tax assessed 20211005 03-30-2021 $0.00 76254-999-05011-1 290 Additional tax assessed 20212605 07-20-2021 $0.00 76254-999-05031-1 810 Refund freeze 10-28-2022 $0.00 766 Credit to your account 04-16-2022 -$15,199.00 766 Credit to your account 04-17-2022 -$17,199.00 971 Notice issued 11-22-2022 $0.00 I'm really concerned about the "810 Refund freeze" code from 10-28-2022. Is this why I can't get my refund? What does this mean? The PROCESSING DATE shows as Nov. 21, 2022, but it's now June 2023 and still nothing. Called the IRS multiple times but can't get through to anyone. Starting to think my account is frozen because of that code 810, but idk how to tell for sure or what to do about it. Anyone else dealing with this or know what I should do to get my $29,538 refund?

Tax pro here. Your account isn't necessarily frozen - the IRS is still processing millions of returns from 2021/2022. Without looking at your transcript its impossible to know exactly whats going on but there could be several reasons for the delay: identity verification, math errors, or missing documents are common causes.

You can get your transcript online at irs.gov/transcripts but honestly they're pretty confusing to read if you dont know what your looking for

I was in the same boat until I found taxr.ai - its this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly whats happening with your refund and what to do next. It costs $4.99 but totally worth it to actually understand whats going on instead of just guessing. https://taxr.ai

100% legit! Used it last week and it showed me I had a math error that was holding up my refund. Fixed it and now im finally seeing movement

How exactly does it work? Does it just read the transcript or what?
