Filed 1/24 - Identity Verification Letter 5071C - Anyone Get This?
I filed on January 24th and just got told I need to verify my identity. Anyone else get this letter and know what info I need to have ready? Getting nervous about delays.

Yes, its the 5071C letter. You'll need your prior year AGI, this year's return info, and an ID ready. Go to idverify.irs.gov (not the regular IRS site). They'll ask questions about your credit history too. Usually takes about 9 weeks after verification for processing to continue.

Whatever you do DONT call the regular IRS number, they cant help with verification. Learned that after waiting 2 hours on hold lol
