IRS Identity Verification Letter - How Long Until It Arrives?
Filed my taxes last week and got a message saying they need to verify my identity. They said theyre mailing me a letter but haven't received anything yet. Getting anxious since I really need this refund. Anyone know the typical wait time for these letters to show up?

The identity verification letters (5071C or 5747C) typically take 7-10 business days to arrive in your mailbox from the date the IRS generates them. If you haven't received it within 2 weeks, you might want to call the Identity Verification hotline at 800-830-5084 to check on the status.
