Does IRS Accept/Process TurboTax Returns on Weekends?
Just submitted my taxes through TurboTax tonight (Saturday) and wondering if the IRS actually processes these during weekends or if I need to wait until Monday to see any movement. Anyone know if the system runs 24/7 or just business days?

Tax pro here - The IRS electronic filing system (called MEF) runs 24/7/365. Your return can be accepted any time. However, actual processing and updates to transcripts typically only happen on business days.

I filed through TurboTax last Friday evening and got my acceptance email around 11 PM the same night. The IRS definitely accepts returns 24/7, but like others mentioned, the real processing happens during business hours. My "Where's My Refund" tool didn't show any updates until Tuesday morning. So you'll probably get that acceptance notification pretty quickly, but don't stress if nothing else moves until the weekdays!

Filed mine through TurboTax on a Sunday around midnight last year and got the acceptance email by 6 AM! The electronic system definitely works around the clock. But yeah, don't expect any movement on WMR or transcript updates until business days. I remember checking obsessively over the weekend and nothing changed until Wednesday when everything suddenly updated at once. The waiting is the worst part but at least you know it's in the system!

The acceptance notifications seem to come through pretty reliably even on weekends, which is nice. Now I just need to resist the urge to refresh WMR every 5 minutes until Wednesday lol
